For class we had to create a "mechanical object" through illustrator and maybe photoshop, so this is to get some opinions on what I came up with. I'm still getting used to all the stuff these programs can do and this is my first serious project.

Most everything is simple gradients and layer masks.

Dude. nice job! That project looks brutal! Keep at it.

I feel like some more attention to detail could have been made in those horizontal milling lines. But I do understand the pen tool and it is tricky to get super smooth flowing lines sometimes. Nice work though!

Nice work man, perhaps try using a noise overlay to capture the texture of anodized aluminum better.
