Temporary rules thread for "LLV: The Dark Age"

There is a copy of the rules here, but they are still under development as we add game elements. I wanted to get them up so that people could ask questions and develop tactics. As we get closer I will post an official rules thread here with a full copy of the rules. However, as there will be many edits/additions in the next few weeks I don't want to have to edit multiple copies on forums, so the only one available will be the one at Viper Paintball to prevent confusion and discrepancies between the original and other posts. Thanks in advance for your patience, questions, comments, and input.

I understand the rules are temporary and subject to change, but I figure since I asked last year and the rules were clarified, I'd ask again...

Will the rate of fire for markers in semi-auto be raised to uncapped as it has in years past, or is this a new hard and fast rule?

From Viper rules for this game:
"All electronic markers must be capped at 13 balls per second IN ALL MODES INCLUDING SEMI-AUTO MODE."

I am awaiting absolute confirmation from CPX as I will abide by their ROF and mode rulings. I will post an answer as soon as I get a ruling from them.

Okay the official ruling is 13bps capped in all modes, including semi. If you have a recently released board you should have a PSP preset. If you use that you'll be good to go.

Something I hadn't mentioned is that I *did* read the rules before posting this; I had just wanted to see if I could get clarification on the ROF because it wasn't until very shortly before LL3 that the rules were clarified to allow unlimited ROF for semi-auto and I didn't want to wait until the last minute to find out.

Hey Viper, I have a LAW question. How do you feel about the new "Tankless" Launcher developed by Tanklessinvasion. It runs off those red hydrogen fuel cells used for Nail guns. Have you seen them yet? Will they be allowed?

If need be I can show up to LL on friday and give you a long look/demo at it.

I contacted them with safety-related design questions and the possibility of an evaluation unit so that I could consider approving them for my events. I don't recall ever getting a reply. If you have contact with them you may want to have them contact me. I won't be approving them unless I know the answers. With event like Living Legends and Canadian Carnage, and considering I am the only traveling North American scenario production company, it might behoove them to get me the info and a unit to look at.

Never got a straight answer, we able to show up on Friday to Chrono? I would assume yes because of the open games and such going on during the day, but just thought I'd like to know.

1.if we capture a territory without a mission for that territory, will there be points assessed, or are there only points for mission/skirmish territories?

2.The ID tape MUST be worn on Goggles? No armband ID tape?(aside from the squad tape on the upper arm.)

No armband tape. We'll be using survey ribbon to identify sides. You will have unit ID tape on your arm.

Yes. You must have enemy tape on to eliminate anyone, in any way, within fifty feet of the command bunker. I will also be editing that part for "ID Tape" instead of "armband tape."

Correct. They cannot hold two MOS positions.

Markers: Any commercially produced, commonly available .43, .50, or .68 caliber paintball marker may be used Any marker that can be adjusted on the field, without tools, is required to have a locking device to prevent this from being possible. During daytime segments non-assisted pump markers may chrono up to 300 feet per second, while all others are limited to 280 feet per second. All electronic markers must be capped at 13 balls per second IN ALL MODES INCLUDING SEMI-AUTO MODE. You must also have a "barrel sock" for covering the end of your barrel in all non-play areas. Barrel plugs are not acceptable. Players caught with no barrel sock on their barrel in an off-field area other than the chrono may be ejected from the event with no refund. This includes markers with no paint or air. If it has a barrel it is required to have a barrel sock on it. Period.
