My question is, since I always see you fools saying Bose really isn't worth it, can anyone recommend a stereo similar to the Bose advertised on tv. Or one that's better. Preferably one I can plug an iPod into. Any suggestions? It's going to be a gift for my dad

Edit: well we just called Bose and its nearly 800 bucks for the one with the wave system or whatever. That seems just a tad overpriced.

Should be near the same. In a blind test I doubt Bose would rank any higher than low-med cost competitors.

Boss has a bose and it doesn't sound any better than his $100 one. Don't remember the brand or model.
