both have the same bolt design i believe. The etha is much newer to the paintball world so not many reviews can be had for it. Both are great markers.

They are but the Etha is still a spool in that it has a dump chamber. The axe is a pressure controlled poppet. So like an ego or timmy its firing chamber is always being fed. So it's chamber never fully emptys. Like a poppet. But do to sits design it feels very much like a spool

Op, look up on YouTube the name terrencomp. He has a video of him playing with the axe and a video of him playing with the etha. Then he has a video comparing the two.

We have both in the shop and they may look the similar but they are nothing alike in real world usage.

Axe:
+ Shoots better
+ Feels/sounds better
+ Easier/faster to work on
- Needs barrel
- Needs feedneck
- ASA tends comes loose

Etha:
+ Better packaging
+ Planet Eclipse (brand/service/etc.)
+ Tougher
+ Shaft4 barrel
- Composite "plastic" feel
- Loud/"kick" and sounds bad

I have shot both and would pick the Axe myself, but the Etha is better in many ways. I personally felt the shot of the Etha was very springy/noisy bad sounding, while the Axe sounds and feels really good.

Axe, I've owned many guns throughout the years and surprisingly the axe is top 3 or top 2 favorite markers. The etha felt cheap compared to the axe. The axe once broken in and drop the pressure a tad bit is ridiculously smooth and the sound signature is great, sounds like a solid shot. Never broke down in me at all. Etha was cheap feeling and sounded like a low end marker. It did shoot good but not the quality of the axe. My axe was stock, just throw a barrel on it, after breaking it in bring the pressure down by like 10 and you have a beautiful, inexpensive, stock gun. A new barrel is good to have for any gun so get a good one and it will be used for any gun u end up with in the future

I am going to clarify what he means by "Need barrel, Need feedneck". The gun comes with both obviously, but they suck. The barrel is .691 and the feedneck is just bad.

I just shot the Etha at my local shop. The guy who demo'd it to me is a real die hard PE fan as was the salesman next to him. Both of them honestly thought that the Etha was very noisy, loud and had lots of vibration. We all thought that the barrel tip vibrating up and down as the Etha was firing was silly. for perspective, I have owned the Axe for a while and wouldn't even compare the two now after I had shot them both. It is like apples and oranges. Axe shoots much quieter, with less kick and gobs less vibration than the Etha. Until you actually shoot the Etha you wont understand what I am saying. for comparison, an Etek 3 is noticeably smoother shooting and has less vibration than the Etha. I actually liked the Etek 3 over my Axe and thought the Etha was more comparable to a 200$ gun like an Azodin, even though I know it is probably better. I am not hating on this gun in any way I am just telling the honest to god truth that the Etha is as smooth as a 400 grit sandpaper.

PE guns shoot like **** imo. Even at 400 bucks the etha seems overpriced. I know a small company called Mokal makes an airthru grip, full aluminum style spool similar to the etha for less than 300. Just cuz its PE, people are goin nuts over it. Nothin special, go for the axe.
