was board question
Is there a reason a WAS board wouldn't work in a two 'noid (excal) gun?
I have a board I thought was 1.6, could be a 2.0. Can't get it to fire both 'noids. Tried a new battery. I am putting it in a shoebox shocker, and am getting exasperated. Everything is hooked up, and I know the trigger is working, but it just won't fire. I remember hearing something about a version of WAS only working for Vikings. Thanks for the help.

I believe WAS boards are for Vikings. You will need a Nelson (stock) or Pandora board for an Excal.

Yes 2.0 will only work for a Viking.

Jim Drew was too lazy to ever write the 2.0 code for Excals. 1.6 and older firmware works just fine though. The easiest way to tell which you have is to turn the board on in programing mode. Hold down the trigger with the gun off, then turn it on. Pull the trigger to cycle through the different settings (colors). If there are only three colors, it's older firmware.

Well in program mode, I have three colors, red,green, orange. So it sounds like it is a older version. Guess ill try something else.

Do not forget once you go to 2.0 there is not going back to any older software.
