Phantom is the way to go in my eyes. Cheap, can be resold for about as much as you pay for it, and can be upped nicely. But its amazing right out of the box. And it can be either stock or open class.

There are plenty of great options out there if you're willing to buy used. Otherwise your best bet might be an Empire Sniper at around $420. It comes with EVERYTHING you'll ever want in a pump gun.

Never played open class but for stock class you can't go wrong with a phantom! Had mine for years never had a problem plus there's no end to how you can set them up

you could always get a Trracer, small hopper, and bottom line kit for under $200. cheap and easy to get into pump play
