it's the angle plus being in direct sunlight. Sometimes it looks truly white, sometimes it's more of a light gray than real white. I'm sure you've noticed on your marker.

The grips came from Stinger paintball.

Maybe this weekend I'll get around to finishing my prophecy mod and get another marker stand built (since I keep giving mine to my teammates ) and take a couple pictures.
