Etek 3 case ~ Whats up with this ?

I got my etek 3 in the mail today and it came in a etek 2 case. I bought it on ansgear, and I emailed them and they said thats how planet eclipse is sending them. Whats up with this? Any one else have this happen?

I believe that when the Etek3 was first released, some may have shipped with the Etek2 cases - the new case wasn't available in time, or perhaps, not in high enough numbers.

I guess it's possible that Planet could be having some supply issues with the new case, and dug out some old cases to tide them over - but to get an Etek2 case this long after the introduction of the Etek3 doesn't sound right to me.

I emailed planet and they just sent me a message saying they were out for the holidays and be back on the 3rd. It’s not that big of a deal other than the gun does not fit in the case nicely at all. They had to shove the gun to fit. Can’t imagine it is good for the gun.

I call BS on that, I bought an etek 3 a few weeks ago and it came in the correct case. I think ANS is doing something shady

i dont see how it really matters, i never use my case :p. i keep my gat as a whole.

I keep my gun in my gear bag in my case, I think ans is too. I bought a lt, and my friend bought the Am model and his came in the correct etek 3 case. I think it may be ans.

Nah guys, I had this problem, went through ans, and Planet told me that they are making the cases again. They said its a new case, and so it never was designated as an "etek 2 case" but as as "Etek case" meaning they can sell all future eyes in this case as well.

As for the case issues, what I did was I took I super sharp knife and cut 1 centimeter at a time until the gun went in and out without struggle. If you take your time, you can't even notice the homemade cutting.

That's fine that their making the cases again but make it fit the gun I'm not paying 500bucks for a gun that doesn't even fit in its case properly.
