New TV Question
Thinking about buying the bundle at this LINK and would like some advice on it.
I know it's not some top of the line TV, and I don't expect it to be. Namely, is it a complete POS or not based on the specs?

Some people probably know much more than I do, but for that price I think it looks pretty damn good. I'd go for it if I needed a TV.

Personally, I would avoid RCA completely. They are a very low end HD TV. A lot of reliability and quality issues with them. I guess if you go into that bundle not expecting anything then you cant be disappointed.

We just replaced one of their surround sound systems with an Onkyo in my house.
I'm dodging RCA like the plague. I had good luck with them back in the old days, but now, not so much.

I don't know anything about their televisions now a days, but I've had an RCA surround sound system for a long time - since the mid 90's I would guess. It still works great.

Their old stuff is great (my parents have a stereo system from them that's probably older than me) but the new stuff not so much.

the new stuff will be fine when displaying high def. It's not going to be a show stopper with excellent blacks and bright colors like the top of the line samsung, but it's going to work out for you just fine. In that price point it's pretty much the best you can do.
unless you feel like spending an extra 100 dollars on the LG from newegg, it will be worth it.
and standard tv stations, like Disney (I have kids, and disney is not offered in high def from Comcast in the area I live it) Will look like ****, but your wii, xbox or playstation 3 will look very good.

The only thing I can really comment on, since I'm not too familiar with RCA, is that you may want to get something running 120Hz like the LG posted above.
Edit: you can also save money by going with something with 720p. Blue ray is prolly one of the very few things right now which will give you that 1080p output.
