You can get an ape rampage board and not have to swap out the frame

If you use the APE board be prepared to use the hard plastic grip panels it comes with.
Go with either the emortal or virtue if you want rubber grips.

I have a question I didn't see in here. What is the difference between the lt and am frames? And why does the emortal board not drop in?

Well, the obvious difference between the AM and LT frames are that the AM frame is machined from aluminium alloy, while the LT frame is moulded from fibre reinforced plastic.
The stock board sits closer to the back of the frame than the Emortal board does. Quite simply, the Emortal board has to sit further in to the frame in order for there to be space between the board and frame for the LCD screen. The AM frame utilises a wider rubber insert to hold the board. The added width allows for the insert to incorporate double slots to allow for the spacing of the two different boards in the frame. The LT frame only has a small insert with a single slot, that only allows for the correct spacing of the stock board.
The LT frame also doesn't have a viewing window for the Emortal boards LCD, so even if you could install the board, you would have to cut a hole in the frame to view the LCD, which would weaken it.

I can't seem to find any replacement/upgrade eye covers beyond the LT upgrade kit. I've been having trouble with getting paint under mine, and I was hoping aluminum ones would seal better. It SOUNDS like I might be able to make Ego '08 ones work, but I was hoping for something a little more definitive than a hunch on my part.
So, it's not much of a stretch to mod an LT frame to take an Emortal board? Obviously, it would void the warranty, but aside from that and your concern about the structural integrity, it wouldn't be rocket surgery? Just out of curiosity, I haven't found I wanted much beyond the stock settings with uncapped semi so far.

I don't believe that the Ego8 eye covers would fit correctly.
Yes, you probably could alter the LT frame to take the Emortal board, but I would not recommend it.

The Etek3 eye covers are different to all of Planet's other eye covers. None of their other eye covers are going to be a straight bolt on fit.

Is the paint coming from outside the marker (hits) or are you breaking paint in the breech?

Hits are the issue I'm trying to deal with. Just can't seem to get the eye covers to seal against marker hits. Even hits that just splatter TOWARDS the eye covers seem to get inside and gunk up my eyes. The obvious answer is to not get hit as much... =P

You could try cutting some electrical tape to the shape of the eye covers. Remove the eye covers and tape over the eyes and detents. That should seal the eye from external paint. Then replace the eye covers.

As this is true, on the upgrading the bolt, a techt hush bolt or a cure3+ are what your looking for. Besides that, spot on. Etek 3 AM and LT are completely different markers when playing with each.

What kind of efficiency can I expect out of the etek3? Pods to a full 68/45?
