It will get cold and more then likely ruin the solenoid over time. Would be best to use a HPA tank with it.

they say it can run off of it but i would strongly suggest getting an anti siphon for it. for only a little bit more you can get a 48/3000 that will be much better for the marker. i would only use co2 if it is the only option. in which case i would just buy a new spyder pilot

CO2 will work, but it's not advised. If you shoot at a weird angle or too fast, it will either:
a. choke up the gun
b. blow the hoses in the gun
or
c. destroy Orings on bolt and dry up all lube, causing you to have to rebuild the bolt kit and relube it much more often than you'd want to.
That being said, a steely/aluminum HPA tank with a low pressure or adjustable output will run you $55 at most for a new one and $35 at most for used.
I would stick with Ninja or Guerrilla on the tanks. They have some solid regulators, which will help keep your guns shooting consistently. Their adjustable regulators should allow you to find the perfect output for any gun you get in the near or far future.
HPA is also a more reliable source which is cheaper to fill (Free!) and will hold more air for you than a similar/same sized CO2 tank.

it will divide by zero and time will stop.
you shouldn't run straight co2 through an ion. there are precautions you must take before using co2 in an ion. check out the ion forum for advice.

You're sucking an extremely cold liquid into a marker with sensitive parts. Assuming your seals don't fail on contact with liquid CO2, the liquid will expand into gas and cause pressure spikes, if not mechanical failure in certain areas. The only way I would even consider running CO2 is on a remote line to allow it ample time/space to expand to gas before entering the marker. Seeing that you would need to spend $20 on a remote and another $20 on a pack that holds your tank, you might as well just get a cheap compressed air tank. To make a long story short, spend the money and do it right. It's not worth risking catastrophic damage to your marker.

Bottom line, dont do it. just get a HPA tank, you and your gun will like it in the long run.

it will work perfectly UNLESS you get the liquid to cycle (you need to keep your tank at like 1/2 full and aim a good amount up for that to happen) so obviously that is difficult to do so hpa is worth the investment

As others have said, just pick up a compressed air tank. Steelies can be be found for under $50. A lot of a fields are not even filling CO2 any more.
