I'm just now getting my first gun and I'm not sure which to choose. I'm going to be playing mostly speedball, but occasionally woods too. I'm not gonna spend more than 200$ on my first marker. I've been looking at a few, and I've heard that the Azodin Blitz is a good starter gun? (along with things very similar to it, kingman's, piranhas, etc.) It has to be electronic, but other than that I'm open to suggestions. I really don't want to get a used higher quality marker though, so stick to -200$ retail. Co2 compatibility is also going to be an issue, I have a co2 tank now, and it's going to be a while before I'll be able to get a nice HPA, unless you wanna show me where to get a cheap one. Most other equipment is taken care of.

Look around in the B/S/T for both great used markers, as well as your new HPA system. You'll find the most competitive prices there. If you aren't sure about a particular marker, look it up on PBReview.com, or look into the manufacturer's section here on PBNation and see what people say about the particular marker.

The Azodins and New Spyders are supposed to be great, and can run on both HPA and CO2. If you are buying an HPA tank right away anyways, you might be able to pick something up with more options/performance for the price under $200 in the B/S/T's electronic marker thread (I'm thinking you might need a 12.5 bps PSP ramping-capable board, for instance).

Also, posting a WTB thread in the WTB section stating you are looking for a specific HPA system and a marker under $200 (add some other specifics if you'd like) will allow potential sellers to find you while you continue your search.

This too! You forgot this! This also explains the differences between many of the guns out there, and somewhat explains why the prices are different for each style of marker when you take things into consideration.

But first off, if you want one ASAP, there is the 5 finger rule you have to consider, which is this:

5 things you want to see in your marker.

3 of which must be there and 2 of which won't break the deal, but you'd really notice them if they weren't there.

For me, it goes in this order of importance.

-Consistency
-Efficiency
-Comfort
*Comfort
*Barrel Threading.

If a gun I own doesn't own up to the first 3 criteria, there's no way in hell I'm keeping it. If it doesn't own up to the last two, I'd try finding a way around it, and if all fails, but the gun performs wonderfully, I could totally keep it for a while although it won't last in my arsenal forever.
