I've been trying to decide which new marker to get. I don't have a whole lot of cash so i'm trying to stay under about $500 (not counting tax). So i've been looking at either the Etek 3 LT, or the Empire AXE. I'm not sure which one i like more. I can see the pros and cons for both. I just would like to here the opinions of people who have either tried both or shot both, or actually know a good deal about these two markers. Thanks in advance.

Well let me ask you a few things first:

1) Can you buy used?

2) Do you have a good mask and hopper?

If you can buy used, that widens your range of markers immensily.

I'm not against buying a used marker. Just as long as it has been taken care of and isn't just totally bashed. I would like a new marker, but if it's a fair deal i don't see any problems with it.

I'm buying all new equipment so i'm looking at getting the SLY Profit Mask (was going to go I4, but i have too big of a face), and the DYE Rotor. So i think it'll be fine... Once i save the money first.

I own an Axe. N have shot an Etek 3. Go with the Axe. The etek feels cheap in the hands. plus it kicks like a stubborn mule. To get it to shoot even remotely smooth you're gonna drop another $100 in parts.
The axe on the other hand is awesome. Shoots like a dream. Put a good barrel kit on it, to match the paint with bore size you will have a ball upon ball shooter. Plus it is very air efficient. I am getting roughly 2000-2300 rounds per fill on a 68/4500. Also it is the easiest marker ever to lube n clean! hope that helps. good luck

Second on the AXE. Man..you will not be disappointed. I just put a Lurker bolt in mine (best $30 I spent in paintball) and the gun absolutely rips. It is so smooth, so buttery quiet that you don't even feel it. My nephew has and ETEK and mine absolutely stomps his. Quieter, way faster, easier maintenance, repair/replacement parts are dirt cheap, and you can fix just about everything on the gun yourself (except for the ASA-but why do you need too??). Again, I suggest you try both and see for yourself. You will be very surprised and pleased I believe.

dude... these are common guns make sure to go to your local field and ask a player who has these if you can shoot some of your own paint through it. then you will know which you would like more.
