Thinking about "Pumping it" up

So I recently played in a scenario with my Tiberius T9.1 and it was a blast! I would never have guessed that I would enjoy conserving my shots and reloading after every 8-9 rounds!

So after I got home I started thinking about trading my Stock Outkast for a pump of some sort capable of using 10-12 round tubes. Also I intend on using a HPA tank, maybe with a remote line.

As of right now here's what I'm considering and why:

Empire BT Trracer
Why:
Picatinny rails, I have a few accessories that use the rails
A/C threaded, I have a A/C threaded 10 pc barrel kit that I'd like to use
First Strike capable
Why Not:
Have to buy SA-17 mags
Not sure about efficiency
Don't know how it compares to CCI

CCI Phantom:
Why:
Comes stock with 10-12 rd tube
Looks cool LOL
Lighter(I think)
Why not:
Know nothing about them
Don't know how they compare to Trracer.

Question I have for you all:

Which is better in terms of:
Efficiency?
Accuracy(with stock components)?
Maintainability?

Do they make barrel adapters for the CCI?
Are the pump arms adjustable like Autocockers?

Any and all info on either one of these will be greatly appreciated.

I was in your situation a few months ago. I settled with the Phantom because of the following things:

1. Phantom internals seem to be more durable, stainless steel bolt vs aluminum in Trracer.

2. Replacement parts are so easy to order. You call up mike directly. And his shipping charges are very reasonable. The last 2 orders were under $2 to ship.

3. The pump stroke is smoother on the Phantom. I think that other people have polished the internals of the Trracer to smooth it out more. But I prefer the out of box smoothness on the Phantom.

4. The Trracer feels a bit bulky to me. The Phantom feels great.

But the Trracer does have the advantage of AC barrel threads and clamping feedneck. Do you have a shop close by where you can hold the Trracer to see if you like it?

There are a few shops around me however they dont have an trracers in stock. Great input though! Question: Is there any barrel adapters out there for Phantoms??

There are no "true" barrel adaptors out for the phantom.

The phantom stock barrel is actually really good and is used in conjunction with detent rings.

If you wanted more control, you can purchase freak inserts and have the stock barrel bored for freak insert use.

As for the use of autococker threaded barrels, the closest thing you can do is to buy an ASP roundhead body.

I would highly recommend the phantom over the traccer. It's a more refined marker and you honestly can't go wrong.

Trracer is a good gun. You will only have to buy one SA17 spring feed. they are easily found and not very expensive. parts can be found easily as its a new gun...but I find that it is limited in air input options...

Phantoms are found in a billion and one different configurations, so it can be made to fit exactly what your looking for. They are usually a bit more expensive but they also hold their value. Freak bore the stock barrel and you have one of the best barrels I have ever used. I wish there was AC threaded phantom barrels because I would put them on every gun I own...

There's an iFit Phantom adapter that can go Phantom to Phantom or Phantom to AC.

Stick feed? as in what the phantom uses? Holy smokes the ASP roundhead body is perfect! I'm already leaning in favor of the phantom(deal pending right meow) So since it looks like I'm going to be getting a phantom, what do upgrades would you guys recommend??

Phantoms are almost perfect stock.

easy drop in upgrades...
You can get your barrel freaked.
you can buy a ported TPC from ASP
You can buy a fluted hammer

Harder DIY upgrades,
find and buy a Ranger power tube, drill and tap your cupseal to take it...
Find and buy a small brass tube to put on the pump arm, inside the body to reduce pump slop...
You could start doing some messing with the trigger, but thats really more hassle than its worth...

the ASP body is not the answer and in fact is probably the most costly of all the phantom options interms of buying more parts to make it functional. youll need an undercocking kit to clear the cocker barrel plus they are out of stock. It not like the old day where there wernt many phantom barrel options.

Ok guys one quick(n00b) question:

Is the load feed tube on phantoms spring loaded or do you physically have to tilt them forward to load a round into the chamber?? Keep the info coming folks!

I heard if you want them to roll quicker, you can have the inside of the feed tube polished.

You don't have to tilt the gun every single time, but it's best to do so.

Also, polishing a feedtube makes no sense given their dimensions.

Damn idk how I feel about the phantom now knowing that. Especially since it will be my first pump marker. Has any experiment with modding a SA-17 mag to fit them?

I'd say get a phantom on here that comes with everything for cheap, but your call. Its what I did and I'm happy with it. Its a great marker

If you get a right feed body you can just use an adapter to cram a 10 round feed tube in there. If you angle the tube, you won't need to tilt the marker. That's how I have all my phantoms set up. I have one already step up for sale if you are interested. Send me a PM.

I'm sure its possible, but it would be easier and cheaper to add it to the Trracer, which frankly seems like the better choice for you, to me.
