Mechanical Markers

Im looking to get a mechanical marker, but I have a few questions.

First off, which markers are easiest to maintain, and will shoot ropes?
Is the ICE epic the best out there right now?
Are almost all mechanical markers autococker threaded?

Just to clarify, I want a marker that will be a compliment to my AXE, but simply isnt an electro. I have a pump, but when I cant use my AXE, my Kaos forces me to play completely differently. So if any of you can suggest and inform me a bit about mechs, or redirect me to the right thread, which Im having problems finding at the moment, I would appreciate it.

Each person has their own flavor, but i like a nice Shocktech Mech Cocker or a nice Automag.

If you want a mechanical backup for your Axe, you're probably best off with an Autococker. They're on the faster end of the mechanical spectrum. Unless you want a mechanical marker for mechanical-only events, it would make a lot more sense to buy a used electronic marker or a master repair kit for the Axe.

Sounds like a mag is what you're looking for. Find a steep angled frame, a decent valve, and a nice body and rail of your choice to put it all together.

A mag w/ an RT or X valve seems like what you are looking for. Mags can be wicked fast with enough input pressure.

Thanks for the input. The reason I want a mechanical is I figured it would be easier to maintain than an electro, and I wouldnt need to do much more than clean it and lube it after each use.

I was looking at Autocockers, but by mag you do mean an automag right? I really dont pay as much attention to markers as I should, and only really know the ones Ive used.
