Soap and water for dirt. If there is sticker residue or something like that, solvents like paint thinner or WD-40 are safe, but avoid strong acids like vinegar or alkalies like ammonia (windex, etc).

Really? Paint thinner? I deffinatly would not feel safe doing that but if you say so I may try it on a throw away barrel or something.
Anyway gunna go for the soap and water. I was hoping to not have to disassemble but I guess im kinda going to have too.

Most any solvent is safe on ano. Anodizing is very chemical resistant. Like acid said, avoid strong bases and strong acids and even then unless soaking your parts in those you would prolly be fine. Nitric acid is the only thing that I know of that will wipe ano off, but its not like its in everything sooo....
Acid, why would you avoid vinegar and ammonia? I wouldn't think those wouldnt be strong enough to damage anodizing?
Also u sure its ano not powdercoat? If its powdercoat avoid MEK and strong solvents like that.

My son let some acrylic paints dry in my anodized spray gun. Ammonia will wrinkle and loosen acrylic, so I soaked it for an hour or so... took the ano right off.
I've also heard of ano being damaged by soda or fruit juice. It doesn't take much of an acid or alkalli to damage ano.
4fifth, I've soaked ano'd parts in lacquer thinner and other solvents for days with no effect. Solvents are fine.

Actually washed a couple markers in the dish washer. Just take out all the electronics and I would run it on "rinse only" with no detergent as well.
If its just a little dirty then soap, water and a couple q-tips/cotton swabs.

If you do this run a rinse cycle before hand to clean any remnants of detergent out, other than that works great.

Didnt think of that. Like I said ive done it like 2 times total and didnt have a problem but that is definitely something I will be sure to do in the future. You can never be too safe with our precious toys.

chemically speaking, acetic acid aka vinegar is a weak acid.

Yeah, so is orange juice, but evidently strong enough to damage ano.
I guess I should have not used the term "strong" in my statement.

Gonna sound friggin nuts, but get some toothpaste and a stiff nylon bristle brush. I usually disassemble the whole gun, since i'm cleaning it anyways, may as well service the whole marker, clean all the orings and relube them and check for BMW's (broken, misplaced, or worn). After the body is off, start scrubbing, the brush gets in the cracks and the paste gets the dirt, wipe it off with a slightly damp rag, it should look cleaner than 50cents grill at this point. reassemble, stand back 5 feet from your marker for a minute and admire how baller your gun looks, and fap accordingly.

HOT Water with Palmolive or DAWN (the Green or Blue and Stay away from the lemon and anti-Bacterial crap) and a good ole toothbrush will clean ANY ano of any kind.
As for Sticker Residue... Rapid Remover. At $52 per gallon, it's one of the most expensive liquids on earth! It is citrus based and since I use it to strip old, sun beaten Vinyl from vehicles, I always have at least a gallon, so I've used it to remove stubborn sticker residue from a multitude of products made from every type of material with no ill-effects INCLUDING Paintball Markers. I simply spray onto a cotton towel or Microfiber cloth and wipe the residue right off. Once done I use a different towel with water to wipe it down and it's good.
