This has been my anecdotal experience. but I don't actually know enough about crossfit to make such a statement in general.
also from people who do it, the ones who aren't really dumb sounding generally follow xfit football, so I assume it's better than normal xfit. I don't know.

No worries man, I'd probably agree that the majority of crossfitters are relatively weak. They don't follow a reliable/consistent strength program, especially mainsite. I was just trolling a little bit with the O rly post.

Top crossfitters don't even ****ing crossfit. They all have strong powerlifting backgrounds. Crossfit methods are absurd, and retarded. It is a cult fad, ment to feed on over weight America. Their certifications are retarded, and their membership dues are insane. A lot of their methods do put unnecessary load on the joints and spine. And According to Dr. Stuart Mcgill isn't optimal for increasing or strength, speed, or endurance.
Prove me wrong fgt.

It would always crack me up to ragdoll crossfit cornholes who figured my "show muscles" would be useless against their superior functional fitness glorified tendons.
There is a reason the top trainers in MMA have moved away from crossfit for strength and moved to (are you sitting down?) Heavy compound movements for strength training. And I have never seen a size building program that looked anything like a crossfit routine.
Yay worst of both worlds.

LSU Shreveport has like, more powerlifting titles than any other school. If I was there I would try to train with them.
BTW it isn't crossfit if those aren't overhead split squats with a double-under at the top of the rep

BRB your experience doesn't encompass the entire xfit community. And if you're squatting 405 for reps, I'd be willing to bet that you have a previous athletic/lifting background. Amirite?

If you do CROSSFIT. You will not become larger, or stronger 75% of the time.
That is if you BUILD from Crossfit without a prior base in lifting.
Half the people who do Xfit also eat Paleo. And most of the time are going to naturally be at a caloric deficit because of it. Some gyms focus mainly on BW exercises and high rep work without progressing weights...so they just stay small.
IE; I hate Xfit and Paleo but the military seems to be pushing both cause everyone's a ******

Trained with Coach Pierce at LSU-S in middle school. Went to the Junior olympics and took 3rd. I ended up not following through with it for some stupid teenager reason though. Really wish I would have stuck with oly lifting, since I've come full circle.

I was able to do over 25 pull ups without ANY trouble with body armor on by doing kipping. Literally the most retarded thing ever.

If you're trying to do kipping pull ups for lat contraction and growth a la bodybuilding? yes that is retarded. But that's not why you do kipping pull ups....

Hey, I'm not saying anything about whether it's right or wrong or a good/bad idea.
I'm just saying they are in the metcons as a cardio exercise, not a strength one.

It focuses more on hip drive and full body coordination. It's a great supplemental exercise for olympic lifts. Oly lifts require you to open and close your hips very rapidly to get under the bar, kipping pull ups help increase the explosiveness of that hip snap. That bring said, I don't believe anyone should do strictly kipping or strictly dead hang. I incorporate both into my workouts, and I probably do more dead hang than kipping.

I sometimes kip on my last couple reps, just to get them done. The rest are all dead hang though.
