planet eclipse products will always be a step up from the competitor.
the beginner market doesnt know what a spool valve gun is or even what PE's reputation is. all they want is a paintball gun at a good cheap price, sub 200. Minus the electronics, the etha is just another paintball gun in their eyes. true beginners dont know/care for soft tip bolts, pops asa, etc...
with the board, eyes, and modes, the etha is a step up from e spyders and tippmans. noobs see electros are better than mechanical and want it no matter how good a mechanical can be. a good example is trying convincing a noob back in 2006 that an x mag is better than an ion. you're not gonna get him to buy the xmag even if it's the same price as the ion.
