I know right, with the affordable entries the MSXL is VERY limited in revenue to pay a host but that's not the issue. The fact remains Plex and Asylum are the Premier facilities in IN and KY. Insane is equally impressive only problem is 1 Xball field. We have tried very hard to find anything in the south to no avail. I'm still open to suggestions and would go as far south as Atlanta or Birmingham.

$35-$$45 Depends on which Event Sponsor. Each event has a Title Sponsor/Paint Manufacturer.

We look forward to seeing the CGD/ECM teams this year!

Definitely grateful for the venues that have stepped up. Even if it is a king drive that's preferable to no drive at all!

Tapper, sorry to leave you hanging ha. Zach and me are from the same, micro politan town. I was saying to him that since I was 15 I have watched event field owners profit greatly by just having one event like the size of an MsXL. money in the form of (Food vending, Entry/promoter, entry fees, air fees, paintball sales, store sales from the population, hotel's make money, gas stations, and others all are brought in from the event!). I know there are many fields with in a resonable drive, but the facilities and the field owner often are lazy and tend not to reinvest back into their fields/store/business. All I am saying is (not pointing fingers or singling out fastlanefunpark or any facility completely, either) that ALL field owners need to take the chances available, and work together in the industry or else paintball is to expensive to continue as a hobby for %90 of participants.

I am just upset there is no field in TN that wants to put a little time or capital back into their facility-with resonable notice on the calander- to provide a fun place so I can play paintball, and be happy to give more cash during an 8 hour session, to an already paid for facility, than any other sport that exist.

Before we get rolling on this, I am not trying to start an argument or online debate on how field owners are not out for the sport! I can't speak on all field owners, but I know personally I am doing all I can to help this sport have a future and stay open, by bringing in new Recreational players. Now before everyone starts in on the recreational side. The paintball industry is made up of roughly 90% recreational and scenario players (not sure on the exact numbers but that is how my field is).

What is your idea of "a little time or capitol"?

I was approached by Tapper to host a MSXL at GAS. Before telling him that I couldn't, I weighed all the options I had at the time.

Any business, not just in the paintball industry, with the shape that the economy is in, has to look at the long term effects. I weighed on weather or not the additions would generate enough capitol to break even over the course of the next year, not just the capitol that is generated by the MSXL.

I looked at what it would cost for GAS to upgrade it's facilities to meet the requirements of the MSXL:
- 2012 Race-to field
- 4 pits
- Airlines and fill stations to 4 pits

Then take into account the added expenses of hosting an event:
- extra staff (cashiers, ground crew to pick up trash)
- extra electric for running scoreboards and compressor.
- extra dumpsters for all the trash.
- extra porta potties for the added people.

Now with all that said, I did not see the possibility of breaking even over the course of the next year.

BUT, with all the players in Tennessee wanting an event here. Anyone willing to help out with the above mentioned upgrades, please give me a call or shot me an email, and we will see what we can accomplish in a short period of time!

Airlines and fill stations to 4 pits alone can cost double what a field is paid to host an MSXL.

Air in the pits is srs business.

As much as I would love to see an event held at Fast Lane this upcoming season it is not possible. We are shooting to be MSXL ready by 2013.

Agreed, would you agree new nets and general mowing and cleanup are the primary issues.

Don't hear any better suggestions, been listening and looking for 3 years. Maybe change the name to Mid States still doesn't change the fact no fields capable of holding a MSXL EVENT in TN, AL, or any in GA that aren't part of GFOA and don't want the conflict of interest.

Three years ago when the name was decided, there were several quality fields in the Midsouth that could handle what the MSXL was at that time.

Over the course of three years, a bad economy, several major fields having to close shop, and the others not being able to afford to expand to match the growth of the MSXL, there now is not as many in the mid south that can support the MSXL.

I think instead of complaining about where the events are held at, everyone should do one of 2 things:

1. Quit complaining about where the events are at and be thankful that Darin is trying to accommodate everyone instead of saying to just deal with it.

2. Go to your local field and assist them on growing. Without them you wont have anywhere to play or practice, let alone host a MSXL.
