*OFFICIAL* ST:M Secret Santa Thread
DISCLAIMER: This is open to all Active, Reserve, Guard, and Retired service members across the branches ONLY (sorry civilians). If you are a spouse, child, or father/mother of a fallen/wounded warrior OR a deployed service member without internet access please let me know and we will add you to the list. We in this sub-section of PBNation know who the regulars are so please dont feel offended when asked to provide some information. Thank you for your cooperation.
CIVILIANS: If you wish to send a deployed service member a package you may participate. Make sure you clarify that you are a civilian and wish to send a package downrange.
MILITARY: If you know of a service member (or several) downrange please send me a PM and I will assign them a Secret Santa.
SERVICE MEMBERS:
It is that time again... with the holidays quickly approaching it is time to show our giving spirits and celebrate Christmahaunkiquanzika with each other, our friends, and our families. With this I extend to the ST:M forum the idea of Secret Santa. I think we are all mature adults in here and can handle such an event so I am stepping forward to purpose such an idea. Follow the OPORD below and discuss with fellow followers. I will need a hand with organizing so ONE person who wants to step forward please shoot me a PM so I can get you sped up.
HOW IT WORKS:
Rules of Engagement:
Plain and simple.
-PRICE CAP: 10 dollars but not to exceed 15 dollars total SHIPPED! The economy is bad and to keep it fair and equal this rule should be followed. If you get a PM stating that your recipient is deployed or in a remote location this rule DOES NOT apply.
-Nothing that is considered out of line by any means. No X-Rated or pornographic material or anything that would violate GO1 for members downrange. Gag gifts are welcome but tact should be used.
-DO NOT SEND ANY MATERIALS THAT ARE UNAUTHORIZED IN THE AO TO A DEPLOYED SERVICE MEMBER. Common sense dictates but if you are questioning the item; avoid it or ask.
Timeframe:
We will begin now until December 10th. Everyone will be paired up with some NLT December 6th. YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED EARLY!!! Keep an eye out. Once I get a decent amount of people I will start making assignments. Make sure you get your package out before December 14th so everyone can get their package on time.
How to apply:
Again, plain and simple:
Simply post in the thread and tell everyone what branch you are in and what base you are out of (or your affiliation with the military and why you want to participate). Then send ME (kapp_badbloodz) a private message with your address and when you are paired up they Santa will receive your address.
Additional Notes:
In the case of an odd number of applicants; I will step up and take care of the extra people. In the case where it involves several people anyone who wishes to step to the plate would be great. The one other person I would like help with this will be tasked with pairing up half the group as well as assigning me a Santa. Below will be the list of participants, their service branch, and whether or not they are deployed.
