Ya NPPL is growing a lot they had a whole 40 teams at DC this year.... Also PSP had 8 divisional fields a d1 field and a pro field making 10 fields this year. NPPL has 3.... Its clear what the player wants, I don't understand why people even argue about this.

dc had 70 teams not 40. psp did not have 10 fields all year they had that at world cup, and the psp format requires more field time per player. ive used this argument time and time again hb 140 teams 3 fields, nj 120 teams 6 fields.
psp requires more fields per players. there it is in black in white, now flame away.

omg completely missing the point. i knew it would be too difficult to wrap around the minds of paintballers.
im merely comparing size of teams to how many fields are in use. im not saying nppls events are bigger than psp's. im saying it takes more fields to run a psp event per teams. holy **** it's like arguing with a group of children.

i cant argue with you on that. i swear only 10% of the people in this world research things before having and opinion and think before they speak. same goes for pbnation.

I've got no issue with 7-man, but it's only fair to say that a quick trip to any PSP event vs any NPPL event will tell you everything you need to know about which format is doing better.

You do realize that the teams playing in the PSP are playing more games (with an exception of a few RaceTo-2 teams who only play 8) than those in the NPPL, right? Of course they're going to require more fields for their teams.

again another misconception. four twelve minute games as opposed to eight seven minute games. that's forty eight minutes compared to fifty six minutes.
just because there are more points doesnt mean the playing time is longer, and in psp you usually have two squads so divide that playing time in half

The cool thing about paintball tournaments that has gone away in the last few years was the variety of fields when you went to a tournament. Yes the nppl had 5 -6 fields back in the day and the fun part was that it was 5 different fields with their own unique configuration and special bunkers. Now its just homogenized crap far as I'm concerned. Look at these field designs http://warpig.com/paintball/tourname...up/index.shtml, http://warpig.com/paintball/tourname...as/index.shtml. To me paintball tournaments back then were way more fun and exciting than it is in its current state. Half the battle was being able to walk all these different fields and come up with a multitude of strategies. Because honestly if you're getting dominated on the same field over and over again thats not fun at all.

So no one noticed HB has a set date and this so called merger really seems non-existent?

Do you think the NPPL would stop hosting events and planning for them before a deal is 100% done?
Of course there is a date for HB, and there will be until its official.
Did you not notice that Dave Youngblood(sp?) said it's almost a done deal?

My opinion on why NPPL has less teams than PSP in this present date (and this is just my opinion) is right before 2009 season the nppl went bankrupt. people panicked and jumped ship to the psp. nobody kept their faith in the nppl and it showed in participation. Today nppl is growing bigger every event and slowly creeping their way back to the top.

From 3 of the top guys(I really shouldn't have to name names you should know who they are) in the NPPL, it's a NO deal as of right now... but as they say "What happens in Vegas..."

Yet the PSP admits to losing money. Both these leagues are businesses and it's obvious the sport can't support two profitable and well-run leagues. I just wish they'd merge already. This is retarded.

Completely agree! Everyone is "I love this league, I hate this league!" This is better, this is worse! If they just merged them already you would have ONE major league. You then would have the choice, Play the sport you truely love, or dont! If you cant step onto that field and play anyone in your division with a shot to win(in either format) you really arent the best the sport has to offer!
Please Merge so we can get on with our broke paintball lives!
