Well it depends on your rank at the time of renlistment and how long you renlist for... but most of the guys I know were in that range.. The contracting parking lot at our base looks like a luxury import car dealership.

Im honestly surprised you are having a hard time getting a slot for SERE dude...when I joined back in JUN2007, that spring in High school the recruiters were begging for SERE...i think they were offering like 10-15k bonuses.

Well I haven't taken the PAST yet so I haven't been given a chance for a slot. It's just apparently the recruiter doesn't understand that it is what I want, and I don't really want to get a call saying "yo want to leave tomorrow?" for something else.

I'm in Air Force ROTC at UGA, Freshman and took four years of JROTC. Did everything I could possibly do and maxed out my rank and had the highest leadership positions in High school. Looking to go for wing commander my senior year... I'm a lame *** kid to sum this **** up.
ANYWAYS, Looking at a few different career fields. 62E, Developmental engineering... Talked to a guy who was into it and was stationed at eglin, Had the same major (Mechanical engineering) and said he loved it. Munitions testing, playing around with ordnance, all that cool stuff. Anyone know much more about it? Besides it being near a beach and in the sunny state of Florida? I'm looking to work with weapons- mainly developing and testing them. Also going to try for a pilot slot my junior year and see what happens.

62E is an officer slot if I am not mistaken. Because there is not one enlisted person that wouldnt find that job ****ing BA and not do it... just sayin...
There isnt a whole lot of people in here that can answer ossifer questions. NE is one of our resident LTs that might be able to ask around for you. Other than that you're better off calling the base directly and talking to a unit that is down there now. Talk to a recruiter and if they are worth a **** as them to get you in contact with someone who works where you want to do that sort of thing. A simple phone call and exchange of e-mails will yield you better results than on here.

We've got some of the ****tiest recruiters in the nation here, so not much help there... I've had a ton of friends go to them and just stop looking at the air force completely. Lady can't do her job at all.
I'm looking into it though, just curious if anyone has heard how it is- like if its one of those jobs everyone hates, even though it looks cool as hell.

I work 15 days a month, get benefits, and still get a E-4 paycheck. WHAT?!
I am kind of jealous. I was on leave for 11 days and had a fierce beard going. Cant wait to be on leave indefinitely
