Dropping GA like they did Dan, then Mary and gang. They are now done in my book, after years with them. I stayed there ONLY and ONLY because of Dan and the team. I hate the direction the NEW and shiny GA is going. They can go over the falls for all I care now. I will always follow Dan/mary/debbie. They could sell plastic bags with zip ties on them as air systems and I would buy it from them. It's not always the best/cheapest product that makes the sale-In today's market, I think customer service trumps all. Off to edit my sig.

It seems like the move was politically motivated. Most companies will offer existing employees a job at the new locations to cut down on re-training costs.
These kinds of moves are common in publicly traded companies. If there is a change of management, they want all the employee who are loyal to the old management to go with it.
I feel bad for the Chicago employees. I feel even worse for GA. Americans tends to avoid companies who do not stay loyal to their word and employees.

Why feel bad for a company that shot itself in the foot? I bet you really feel for the CEO's of ENRON then too, huh?
They did this to themselves so I for one have ZERO sympathy for them. I know that the paintball field/store I work for always looks for ways to take advantage of the employees that already work there before hiring someone into a position. That's good business.

But poor public relations, and by the sounds of it, loss of solid and respected employees according the paintball industry and GA customer base; including a key member of their R&D department. If GA is cutting costs then it's more survival of a company than good business since these employees will look for employment elsewhere, more likely a competitor like ninja.

There's nothing you can do about it. They made the decisions they made and they will have to suffer the inherent consequences. It appears they are already losing a fair amount of customers and I'm sure it will continue to happen.

If they were doing as well as they say, then shutting down the Chicago facility would not have happened. Companies that are thriving as they say will open more facilities to reach a larger customer base, not close down facilities. They haven't done much to revolutionize or change the way people use air systems as opposed to say Ninja (GS Series of regulators, custom tanks, Breast Cancer Awareness LE tanks etc.) has in the last year or two. There are two companies in MN that are expanding as a result of success, not shutting down locations and firing employees. There is something that is being left out of the story to protect someone (my guess is GA) that most if not all of us will never know.

Hey GA:
Looks like the people have spoken.
Maybe you should worry about your negative PR instead of releasing tank bags and firing all of the employees who made it happen.
Hopefully Ninja will pick up some of the talent seeing as they're only in crystal lake which is somewhat local.

That is nothing like what is going on. I work retail, and I can tell you this, that at least 95% of the customers I have dealt with WOULD NOT wait a month for sale, period. As for comparing a store telling a customer, "that will be on sale for XXX price in a month," is NOTHING like a company (such as GA) firing employees that have been with the companies for years on end.
