What do you guys think would be the most common causes of light shaking in the steering wheel of a van at highway speed?

Unevenly distributed snow in the wheels. Oh wait...But yeah, unbalanced wheel. Maybe a lost weight.
Didn't realize I was in the tech thread and I'm not a tech. Carry on.

Its a prime location, for example this past saturday I had my bronco up on the lift and some guy came rolling in with a ram 1500, lost his steering, replaced the line in 45 min, easy $100 cash minus parts. Its really surprising how many repairs just come rolling in, literally.

That's a nice gig. I had to axe a lot of my side work when I went to BMW a few months ago. Once I'm there a bit more I'm gonna be working it back into my time after hours there. I was doing a ton of side work, and the loss in pay hurts.

Yeah, Newton.
Lee got fired, I was hired to replace him. I never worked with him, but I met him a few times a couple years ago when I was working parts.

You can't just plug it in and be good. It has to be programmed before the car will run with it, so unless you can program it, you might want to let the dealership work around your schedule.

Oh **** I didnt know that, than again last time I talked to him was about 6 months ago. How do you like it there
Edit-Customer brought in a ford(302 matched with a AOD), claimed it was downshifting sporadically and every time it "downshifted" the trans would start squealing. It was not speed dependent although it only happened above 25mph, when he was coasting(no pressure on gad pedal). Guesses?

Shift linkage was the downshifting problem, guess the squealing?

I'm hourly right now, and have been since I got hired. I was supposed to be flat rate this week, but someone dropped the ball, so supposedly next week.
They give me overtime because I bust my *** and don't **** **** up, so it's really not a big deal which pay scale I'm on just yet.

a buzzing sort of sound that changes or fades in/out with engine speed is likely a pressure regulator valve. more of a high pitch whine at idle and in gear increasing with speed is typically a pump, and the speedo drive gear can cause a squeal at low speeds.
