Sort of, it will never pay like any kind of job but there are lots of events with cash prizes.

Can you make money? Yes, in some cases. Can you make a profit? (meaning you make more money than you spent making it) No.

There's a lot of factors that play into that, but probably not.

Paintball is not a career, or if you want to argue that it is, it isn't for very long.

Most tournaments will be a break even deal for the winning team. What you might find worthwhile is to play a series that awards the series winner with free entry to a PSP event - a $2000+ value. In that case, view each tournament in the series as an organized practice for the PSP.

this is actually one of my biggest problems with tournaments. they should have it set up so it's cheaper for players to play and a little more for people to come and watch. that way paintballers can focus more on the game moreso than seeing $$$$ signs everytime they lay down a lane. lolol just my 2 cents.

If you take it all into account there is no way.
Say each team mate after a winning even takes home a few hundred (just saying) how much did u put out for all the practices and travel/ gas to get to practices and to the event.
Its a losing battle, play to have fun not to win money.

Play to win your money back, play to gain more sponsors and play for the gear you can win, there isn't really any profit to be made though. You would have to be REALLY damn good and shoot little to no paint.

Back in the day pros used to get free rides, and most of the time brand new guns and goods from the sponsors at each tourney.
Selling those guns and goods used to be an honest way to make a decent buck, but I believe things have changed recently.
I think the players that are making a living out of paintball do so by hosting clinics and playing for european teams @ millenium.
It's kinda like the record industry, artists make their money from live concerts, not the records,
but they still need the major labels (national toruneys in the analogy) to promote their names,
even thou very little money is to made out of record sales..

To make a living on paintball you are going to have to kick *** at something. I mean, you have to be amazing. Whether it's marketing, networking or playskill. If you have enough drive, though, I believe you can do anything.

A wise man once said, "To make a fortune in paintball, start with a fortune."
But honestly, paintball is not a sport played by most to make a living. Heck, wasn't Ollie Lang's $100,000 contract with Dye over three years? That's not a whole lot per year. Not sure, maybe payouts are better in Millenium? I'm not very familiar with European paintball.
