Well drugs in general tend to give one a bit more of a disambiguated and less subjective view towards things. I know there is a lot of **** I would have never listened to or even sought out had I never started to smoke. Really though, music is just flat out enhanced by drugs, and it just makes you appreciate music as a whole a lot more.
Not why I came in this thread though.
Always been a Sunn O))) fan, but recent acquisition of a Red Fang album as well as some more intense early-Sabbath listening has gotten me more interested in this kind of music.
I really don't feel like wasting hours of time listening to every band posted in here, so what are some quick suggestions of ones to get into? Instrumentally-heavy stuff would be cool, since it would be a quick way to bypass my hatred for gutteral-growly vocals.

Most Stoner doom/sludge has more deep, bellowing vocals than growls, though they are still included by some.

Already have a pretty extensive Kyuss and QOTSA collection.  to the YOB though. Guess I'll spend some time working through that list.

Yeah, saw them a few weeks back, and I've never been so deaf.
Also, came home with loot:
Cymbal stand broke near the beginning of their set, and at the end, the drummer just came straight to me, put it in my hand, and nodded.
