lemme give you a brief history lesson on the great depression. in the 1920 the economy in america was not doing well. in 1929 the stock market completely crashed. people panicked and word spread quick that banks wouldnt be able to pay people their money and all would be lost. people quickly started pulling money out of banks and soon enough banks started going out of business and people went flat broke.
if people just had faith in the banks and kept their money invested it wouldnt have been the final straw that broke the camel's back and the economy might have not been so bad.
7 man in my opinion is the same way. since 09 people have been getting on nation and propaintball and anywhere else they can slamming 7 man and deterring people from signing up. this is what causes many teams to turn their back on nppl fear of NOTHING. every year i hear; this is the last year, or this is the last event, or 7 man is dead, and every year 7 man does more events with more vendors and more teams.
i can assure you 7 man is not dead. keep playing, keep supporting and above all keep spreading the good name of 7 man and stop are these ridiculous rumors.

I enjoy 7 man over 5 man just my preference. I would love to see some 10 man brought back. I have been playing since 1994 and have seen many changes with the sport over the years. I think the economy is playing a huge part but 7 man is far from dead.

I loved watching the 7man games at DC last year while i wasnt playing 5man....
Overall i do ihave to have to agree with minions on saying everyone bashes it on propaintball/here on pbn...
In the past 3 years i have been playing competetively i owuld have to say the 7man teams last longer as a roster than any xball/5man team has, don't get me wrong i love xball and am all for it but i do not believe that 7man is dead but people are just being mislead about the Nppl and its 7man divisions

I agree with most of what you said but just to clarify:
In the 1920s the economy was good, basically up until the crash, it was nicknamed the roaring twenties in part because it was "a period of sustained economic prosperity"

Do you really think I higher up business man from ESPN would have came over to NPPLs board of directors if it was going to die? Highly doubt it. 7man is alive and kicking. Just more in some places than others.

Keep in mind, fields promote 5-man and ramping for the sole purpose of selling more paint. Almost all the pros and upper division teams prefer 7-man over 5-man

Obviously someone didn't read the paper, the NPPL got shot in the heart on Monday and has sustained life threatening injuries. So yes the NPPL is dying.

when did it disappear? it went bankrupt a couple months before the new season in 09 and STILL managed to run a successful league that year. the only reason is was called the uspl that year was because they couldnt buy the rights back to the name in time, but after that year it went back to nppl.

yeah, it never really disappeared. I remember when The nppl was league to play, and when the whole bankrupt happen (which could be blamed on a single person) people just start bashing the nppl. The NPPL is not dead, and big things are happening with this company, just keep supporting it. Hey if you can, support both leagues, no reason not too unless you cannot afford of course.

Are you using "5-man" as x-ball or as 5-man? If it's x-ball - I would like to know what data supports your claim that "almost all pros and upper division teams prefer 7-man over 5-man"?
Overall both leagues have about the same number of teams that have played all the events the league as offered - the PSP has 38 teams over 3 events and the NPPL has 37 teams over 2 events. Of course, you can make numbers support any argument you want - just a matter of how you spin them.
On a side note - as a field owner I don't promote one style of play over another due to paint sales. I promote one style of play over another due to customer demand. And if there is any style I promote more than another it would be 11 year olds playing in the woods for their birthday party.

actually wikipedia is a good source for quick answers and broad summaries of subjects.
The information on wikipedia is backed up by sources (which you can see at the bottom) and even though anyone can change/add something, they have moderators, and if you change something without backing it up with a source the moderators will come in a delete it within a short amount of time.
and the information is absolutely right
