Laptop Suggestions please

Hello, I need suggestions for the best laptop I can get for around $750. It will be used for CAD modeling and rendering. It will also need to be transportable so I can host workshops and demos for Autodesk products so no desktops please.

I was looking at this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834230089
And was wondering if there was anything better for >$800.

Thanks in advance!
-Don

Asus is over priced for what you get, but you get a better warranty.

better specs for $20 more

I have an acer and love it. My last laptop was Asus. I liked it, but I regretted paying the premium

Thanks! the type of post I was looking for. Would it be worth upgrading the ram on the Acer? Or would 4gb be enough for the programs I am looking to run?

same price and specs as the acer with the asus warranty

edit* actually $20 cheaper cuz theres a coupon so your definitely not paying a "premium"

There are some pretty decent deals in Sony's Outlet. You can a slight discount for using your college email too.
From expierence if your doing stuff with solidworks or say 3d work in AutoCad Lt it will help to have 8gb of ram. If you intend to only work in plan view then it's only going to make a marginal difference.

why would you cripple yourself with poor hardware? A $750 mac would be a few year old used mac with outdated hardware. A new pc will have a warranty and modern hardware.

Doing calculations on your computer (**** Stata) and waiting for results is a waste of time. I'd rather finish the problem and move on to the next part

Virsus protection.
Mac > Pc.
Repair thoughts? Read reviews on pc & mac. Which fits you better?
I think macs have fewer repairs to be honest. Pcs are usually the ones that stack up in the repair shop.
When i spend big bucks! I want it to last awhile. Pcs come and go. Macs stay for several years, then need to be updated software.
Then pcs need updated programs.
Spyware!
Norton Anti virus!
Alot of extra cost...
They end up running you quite bit of cash.
I say for school save that cash for a Macbook Air or Macbook Pro.
Used Macbooks run from 1g to 1.5k New! You could save up working @ Ronald McDonalds.
