Future airforce placers
Hello all. I'm in the process of joining the Air force and i know the AFAA(Air force of america academy) has a paintball team but i will be going into the community college instead of the academy. I was wondering if there are any others here that play and are in/joining the Air force. I'm sure ill meet other players in basics and that also.

I'm not, but my son is. I know the AFB in San Antonio where you do BMT has a field, but I wouldn't plan on seeing much of it. He's stationed at Kadena on Okinawa now, and he says there is a field there but it isn't very busy.

If you got any playing time in during boot, I'd think about finding another branch. I'm not Air Force, but I'd assume you wouldn't get any leave time until after you graduate.

If that's anything like the Navy's liberty weekend, then you'll be stuck in uniform. Besides, you should spend it with your family. It's not like you're allowed to drink or have any real fun at that point anyways.
I'd go into the regional forums and find fields where your tech school's gonna be.

I'm in the Air Force and I play about twice a month. The good thing about being station in Florida is that there are 10 fields within 2 hours.

There is NO time to play during BMT. So don't even think about it. However, there are lots of bases with fields, or fields nearby that support the base. There is one here at Langley run by the 633 support squadron. I know NAS Pensacola, where I went through tech school, has a field on their park. Whichever base you go to, check in with the Outdoor Recreation Facility on the post and find out where fields are near by. While I was stationed in vegas, I was starved. I was willing to drive 6hrs to Salt Lake City just to play. Luckily there are fields closer now, about an hour away. (There's also SC Village about 4hrs away in Cali).

You can earn a day at the end of basic, but during, you will not! As I said, at the end, if your squadron has screwed up so much, your TI may be so pissed that you don't get that free day.

The Army Base I work at won't allow a permanent field on base nor will they allow us to use actual paint balls, we have to use re-balls. The government is extremely prudent when it comes to risk mitigation and paintball is one of those things they think is a great team builder... but not on their property. Heh.
Check with the MWR office when you get wherever you're heading. They will point you in the right direct.

^ Odd. I know Tyndall has a field on their property. So does Andersen AFB in Guam, it's near the shoppette / airman's center. I think it depends on the base. And here there is one in the off-base housing.
And gerwulf- click the air force link in my signature.

been in the air force a couple of years, most of the CONUS bases you'll go to will have a paintball field on base or at least within reasonable driving distance. I play usually once a month when we can get some guys together.
