I'm not so sure. While it's true the progressive left feels free to debase Christians, they'll always be tentative and mostly unwilling to go after Islam. Why? Because the Islamic world fits nicely in their anti-imperialistic and anti-colonialist narrative. In their eyes, the world is divided by oppressors and oppressed. Muslims will always be seen by the left as "brown-skinned" victims of Western civilization, so they basically get a free pass when it comes to launching rockets at Jewish civilian populations, committing mass murder, and rampaging in the streets because they've been "offended." No, don't expect to see the secular left treat Muslims the same way it treats Christians. The former are considered misguided victims, the latter are treated as irrational right-wing zealots.

Not really. You probably just think that way because other liberals tell you to.

To be fair, I don't remember you ever taking a position that was inconsistent with his analysis.

Not aligning ones beliefs with the neo right doesn't mean someone sides with the left.

So you have specific instances of him taking a position consistent with said analysis?

Yes, we all know the white, male Christian is the most disparaged individual in this country today. I just find if almost laugh out loud hilarious that the people who berate the American left for fostering a victim mentality among minorities are among the first to play the victim card when people refuse to swallow the B.S. they're attempting to shove down everyone's throat.

I also like how "anti-imperialistic and anti-colonialist narrative" is somehow a derogatory mindset.

I don't know a single secular person who believes that, left or right. Every secular person I know (and I know lots) places Islam as the most spiteful and hated religion with Catholicism at a close second.

Being secular myself, I despise no religious following more than Islam's offerings to the world. Most people would say I'm a pretty liberal person as well.

You forgot to mention that Christians nowadays are complete pussies, it's easy to get away with mocking and demeaning them. The worst you get from them is Brent Bozell crying because Family Guy mocks Jesus.

That's a fail. People will find any number of reasons to kill and abuse each other. Religion is often perverted and used for political or selfish means, however these abuses generally run contrary to the doctrine of the religion - people are just too dumb to see through it. Same as when people are too dumb (or maybe oppressed, brainwashed, etc. would be a better word) to see through such scams as communism, naziism, etc.

... Communism and Capitalism are both awesome in theory and function flawless on paper. However as soon as they are allowed to interact with the evident corruption of men... The all fail given enough time.

Religions are flawed in the basis that people pick and choose which doctrine to follow. They will hide behind it when they persecute others, yet when they aren't following it... it suddenly becomes up to interpretation.

Capitalism hasn't failed, except for when ignorant pols manage to screw things up (and then blame them for being screwed up, lol). I'd love to see your definition of the "failure" of capitalism and see you attempt to explain how it wasn't tied to government intervention.

What are you talking about? They wouldn't be following it correctly (at least according to the actual doctrine of most major world religions) if they did either of those two things you described. Religion is not flawed, human nature is flawed and results in what you described. The question is not what has religion done to man, but rather what has man done to religion.

So Capitalism has no ties with our government in this country, huh. Pretty much any other type of economic system could be spoken of in the same way.

Who created the different religions?
