That sentence made no sense, but live with it.

Is there a timed 4 mile run that nobody told me about? :nododgy: I thought the only timed run was 1.5 mile.

I was training a kid at work, same description minus the pizza face. This kid is a space cadet, one of the most "interesting" (I'm being nice when I say that) people I've ever come across. I'm making small talk with him cause it's his first day on the job and somehow it comes up that I'm joining the Navy. He tells me that he was three weeks into boot camp and they kicked him out because they discovered he took prescription ADHD meds. I was shocked that he made it three weeks in, honestly.

Phew, good thing I'm too much of a ***** for that.
But in all seriousness, being a SEAL is something I've thought about/been asked about, but 6 months of day-in and day-out training is just way too ****ing much. I take my hat off to those who are SEALs, but I'm not looking for a career in the Navy so I guess you could say for me it wouldn't be worth it. ufeelme?

He was the kid you could look at at MEPS, then look at someone else, then you both laugh knowing that he is a joke. It's not a few people you could do that with, it's everyone, including the other people that shouldn't be there.

So if I'm understanding this correctly... the Navy is a joke?
In other news, is it bad if I'm excited for boot camp because it'll get me out of the piece of **** county that I live in?

No you aren't understanding correctly, and all branches are jokes at the normal levels.
Yes, that is bad.

You'll see. If you are lucky you will find your life elevated. If not it will be at the same level, or lower. Flip a coin.

I saw this at the Liberty Center. Meet my new hero, he can play World of Warcraft AND Call of Duty at the same time.

Sup guys, Ex Navy here. it is obvious by just scanning this thread I am probably the old man.
Anyways..............Went to boot camp 9-93 in Orlando when it was still around, went to Pensacola for Photography A-school. Stationed with then VF-41 working in the TARPS shop. I did 2 med cruises, 1 on CVN-71, and one on CV-67. I also did a norlant on CVN-74. I got out 10-97. Can't say I hated it, can't say I liked it.
here is a pic of me on the carrier in 97 on my last cruise.
