haha, I'm actually okayish at mastercam. did the bolt face in mastercam. I've done other stuff too but....


and I don't really have dims at this point. I do but I don't. like sure I've got bolt dims, but you could figure out what I've done.

and the whole point of this is for it to be a 1 of 1, my dims, my marker... no offence. but I don't just wanna be giving away everything for someone to directly copy it. I want people to have to go through the same effort that I had to.

soo, been playing around with the idea of turning this into a closed bolt marker. she'd be dual solenoid, and not actually have anything protruding outside the main body, ala autococker.... save maybe an LPR.

I've got a valve design based off existing pieces I'm drawing up now (gonna have to learn CAD to CAD it)

I like closed bolt markers (for some weird reason lol) and I think this would be a cool opportunity to make one... and it would expand my knowledge even further.

so just on a mockup, I realized that If I'm going to use the AR-1 body (at least for now, I want something functional) I'm going to need a tray. nothing big, just to run the eye wires. and I'll need to modify the UL frame just slightly - just widening the rear frame screw hole to match up with that of the body.

time to call up my old HS shop teacher.

UPDATE!!!!

I could very well have a firing marker tomorrow... no LED or anything since I broke it and STILL can't find a replacement.

but I have a tray made. it may need some mods for the eye wires, but that's easy. post up pics later.

soo, a firing marker won't happen today. I lost an important oring (of course) and my mom's fiancee didn't bring home the oring kit from his work... but he will for sure bring it tomorrow.

ahh! omfg I just stumbled upon this thread for the first time and read it start to finish. The first posts were so long ago, as I read on I watched as the date got closer and closer to today. I just read the last post and I was like "Sooo close!!!" I'm telling you reading it in this manner is kind of intense. I really like the work you've done over the years with this and I wish you the best of luck. I wish I had half your skill and access to awesome tools. Count me suscribed!!!

so close to getting something firing that I can almost taste it...

BUT I CAN'T FIND MY BOLT ENGINE

she's not pretty - no eyes, no detents.... no grips... no led....

but if it fires I'll be soo HAPPY cuz the rest are easy to fill in. I have grips, but I'm working on them (yes i have to tinker with EVERYTHING)... I'm waiting for a source that'll cost me less than $25 for an LED, detents are an easy fix, and I just need to mod my tray slightly (an eye passage is too thin where it meets with the body)
