LEMUR response thread

Figured we can have a separate thread from the original for person responses and critiques of the routine.

I'm going to start it tomorrow, I'll be keeping a personal in depth log but I'll post some stuff here from time to time (and hopefully everyone else will too). I'm more comfortable with high volume routines so this will definitely have an adjustment period. Looking forward to it and I plan on doing it for at least a few weeks regardless of how I like or dislike it to get at least somewhat of a gauge of its effect on TEH GAINZ

post up, bros.

In for this. I'm starting the nbc now, but I dont think this routine will go well with cutting, since DC was a fail while cutting. I shall be starting it at the beginning of the school year

A bit about myself, started curling and benching for da girls about a year ago in my basement with a bench and some 20 pound dumbbells (didn't do anything logical or make any progression for two months). Went to college and made good use of their gym but still ****ed around for 3 months. Finally got "serious" in december/january. Most of my strength/physical progress has been made in the past three months to be totally honest, I have since dialed in my diet (obviously most important aspect), and I really only consider myself to have come into my own as a lifter since that time frame.

Moving on.

LEMUR was very interesting.

My only "issue" was my own lack of knowledge of my 1rm's. For instance my "max" set for weighted dips was with a plate, should have been closer to 65-70 pounds. I can't stress enough that I can already tell knowing your own personal maxes will be key to progression on this program.

Very different than what I am used to volume wise, but I found the burn sets to be very intense (lactic acid wise).

I used the same extreme stretches that Dante recommends, they were very nice. Used straps for a dead hang and that killed my lats.

The fatigue on this routine is much more intense than before, and I was very tired by the time I got to my last muscle group.

Overall this was a very interesting/fulfilling workout and I'm excited to see where it takes me.

Lurker- I understand the idea/concept behind Kaatsu but I can't understand the physical part of it. Like the literal application of how to restrict blood flow correctly, do I just tie a band around my arm like a junkie? Totally serious.

yes. You want it to be FIRM but not tight. Like, just enough that the material beigns to stretch. You are not trying to turn things blue, you are just trying to RESTRICT the blood volume to encourage lactate buildup

Ok. On the guide it only mentions Kaatsu restriction for curls, should I apply it for BW squats as well?

So, if I had access to a roll of disposable rubber TQs, would that be a good device for kaatsu?

Is this the facial expression you should be getting from other gym members?

Yes, but obviously you aren't tying them as tight as a TQ normally.

Burning is the name of the game, not numbness.

For the BW squats that are not speed work (the ones done before curls, for instance) you should occlude if at all possible. The GH spike from legs is FAR bigger than any other muscle group due to total muscle/lactate volumes and will actually translate into even better gains in groups done immediately afterwards. Massive GH spike + insulin and GH spike from preworkout protein only + GH workouts every day = serum IGF off the charts

Serum IGF + effective burn work = IGFDES and IGF mediated growth

Alright cool, I'll be logging this without your exact periworkout protocol until I grab some stuff.

Right now just cutting carbs ~1.5 hours before, taking a pre 30 mins before, bcaa intra, carb/pro post. Nothing too wildly different.

Going to take baseline measurements once my pump wears off.
