Moving to Portland...

So, my fiance and I are moving allllllll the way out to Portland and I was wondering what you guys had in the way of Paintball? What are the nearby fields? Do any of them host events or series'? Any information at all would be extremely helpful. Thanks a lot!

Welcome to the NW. There is a lot of paintball here from tourneys to outlaw woodsball.

Here are some links for some great non commerical fields/teams:

http://okcompanypaintball.com/on-commercial
http://www.moongobbiebros.com/forum/index.php
http://walkons.proboards.com/index.cgi?

Register and introduce yourself.

The are several fields in the area too.

Splat Action
Sniperzden (which is where the Super Games are held)
Warpaint Indoor and Outdoor (in Salem)
Action Acres (in Canby)

I know I am missing several.

Just do some looking in this forum and you will most likely see them listing events.

In the state of Oregon there is only one place to play: Diamond Hill Paintball. Only legit field in the state, and a damn fine one.

It may be a great field, but it is hardly the only legit field in OR. You are either an owner or a fanboy.

For scenario commercial fields, there's also Splat Action in Molalla, SniperzDen in St. Paul, Action Acres in Canby, and Warpaint in Salem. All are about an hours drive from the Portland area. Warpaint has a scenario coming up this weekend and both Splat Action and SniperzDen have big games in August. SniperzDen will be the site of Supergame 42, which is one of the largest events in the northwest.

If you're willing to go a little further, there's also Hoskings field in Lebanon. Probably an hour and a half to two hour drive for that one. They're the local site for the TAW scenarios... I think the next one is in Oct.

Also, someone mentioned WCPS (West Coast Paintball Series), which has both 5 and 3-man speedball, plus a 7-man woodsball tourney. Welcome to the neighborhood. Hope to meet you on the field soon.

Royal ridges in the battle ground area is great. I play for NW devastation and we run the speedball portion of it. We work very hard to keep our field upkept and nice to play on, the competition and turnout is great on practice days and walkons are always welcome. There is a woodsball portion ofthe field also, Doug (maxdevastation) keeps the thread updated regularly with events/practice days.

Well I figured I'd troll this a bit. Royal Ridges and Impact are probably the best fields around Portland for short driving distance. Personally out of the 2 I would say Royal Ridges is hands down my favorite field (grass is SOOOOO nice and soft). Further South Warpaints new fields should be dam nice as well but I havent been there recently to check em out. Other than that Diamond Hill is a fantastic field and they are in Harrisburg so about 1.5hr drive from Portland proper (cant wait for the grass to finish coming in to make it that much better).

I've played at a number of fields in Oregon. There are many more I have yet to play. I absolutely LOVE Diamond Hill. Once the new grass grows in, it will be amazing for speedball. The rec ball field (new) is also awesome!

Albany Outdoor Paintball is also a great place for woodsball. They've been around forever.

Warpaint Indoor is a fun place to try some indoor paintball, and their outdoor field one exit away is GREAT for woodsball, trenchball, castle, urban, and hyper ball!

Oregon has a lot to offer, and while everyone holds their own preferences, you should go and try them all out!

If i had the cash id drive 4 hours every week to get up there. I've played just about everywhere in Oregon except DH. Just got back into the sport. I currently play down in Southern Oregon; DMZ's field in Central.
