The turbocharged tippmann- 56k no way
Long story short I had a friend who was going to come and visit me for a few days and I was going to take him and some other friends balling for the first time. As a piratical joke I made him a gun which unfortunately he never got to use due to some unforeseen circumstances but it was still a really fun build and I'm just here to share it.
When I started this project it was initially suppose to just be the most ridiculous **** I could fit on this gun but it actually turned out to look pretty good. Someone on here was nice enough to sell me a trashed rental tippmann 98. Originally I was going to leave the finish the way it was when I got it but after talking to another friend he convinced me that it would look best if it were brushed clean.
Delicious rental gun
Notice the congealed pain on the bolt... its perfect
In 2001 the velocity was set to 280fps and was never adjusted ever again...
This o-ring wasn't even in one piece, **** honestly couldn't have been any better, money well spent
Full tear down and I just threw all of that **** into a hot bucket of water to soak for a few hours

The other original idea I had for this gun was all about the fore grip. I've tinkered with xbox controllers for a while and one thing that I noticed is that the mechanism that makes them vibrate is just a really silly looking motor. Moreover, a lot of people don't actually know what it looks like or how it works and might as well consider it simply a form of black magic. All things considered I figured that would make an awesome feature if when you flipped a switch the whole gun vibrated. There were two problems I faced, the first was the mounting of the motor the fore grip was really the only thing that struck me as a proper place to put it but unfortunately a 9volt wouldn't fit in the 45 grip with out some milling which I really didn't feel like doing. After some more discussions with my "development team" we came up with a solution which also lead into more ideas.
Hole no. 1 for the ss hose
Hole no. 2 for the ss hose
Holes tapped, hose mounted
For running the wires I through instead of cutting the inside of the frame up why not just use the ss braided hose that was supplied with the marker. It acts as a good conduit and also makes it rather hard to hold the gun like you normally would.
Running the wires
To keep the illusion I put a 9mm shell courtesy of a friend in the expansion chamber channel inside the body to hide the wires… also it adds a wtf is that feature .
Grommet where the wires from the battery and switch enter the 45 grip

The cocking knob was a tough one. There was a massive debate on what to use and if it would be too heavy and keep the gun for cycling properly. I settled for the handle of a desk/cabinet drawer that was cut off and tapped. For those curious I threaded the original cocking knob and drilled an tapped the handle for the same thread.
Overall I think the cocking knob goes well with this mess.
Epoxy time, this is where I mounted the motor for the fore grip and some scary *** looking old toggle switch for the "turbo" feature.
Delicious epoxy
Vibrator grip
Randy Johnson toggle switch
Everything all mounted up
Scored a vewloader rev’y off ebay for 12 bucks. I considered adding an 16’’ or 18’’ barrel to the gun but I’m cheap and there was much debate over longer vs shorter for the desired effect. So, I just said **** it and kept it stock.

As I mentioned before another idea was hatched when discussing how to/where to mount the battery. What was devised was an external mount with a ****ton of useless electronics and lights. For those of you who are nazi zombie fans we decided that with the use of a micro switch and some electrical engineering help we would make a shot counter using incandescent light bulbs similar to the wunderwaffe. However, it seemed more difficult than it was ultimately worth to figure out. I mean, its not impossible but come on its a turbo tippmann that's going to be used maybe 3 times. Unfortunately I don't have any step by step build photos of this just the finished product. I used the existing valve mount screws as a base, made an l bracket mount for everything out of steel sheet metal, and the board is a pc bread board from rs. All of the electronics are out of an old vcr. I pretty much just opened that ****er up and took everything that was scary looking and threw it on this thing. The lights are all ran in a parallel circuit so even if one goes out the others still work. The battery is mounted with a stupid 9volt holder from radio shack that I just drilled a hole into. Finally on the other side of the mount notice there is a heat sink, deff wouldn't want that **** that's not hooked up to anything to get too hot.
Notice the fuse and the pointemeter… thing
Lights on vibrating like a mother****er
Grommets mess of wires and ****
Heat sink on the back side of the L bracket
Final product
As you can see this is the final product of all of my tinkering. It was a lot of fun to make and even more fun to use. Even through my friend who was visiting didn't come and get to use this gem I still saddled it up for the last game of the day this past Sunday... ya know, just to see how she would rip. Honestly the biggest disappointment out of the entire thing was that I didn't refill my tank. I was using a 45/45 with a 2k fill left on it. I got a hopper and half a pod down before she was empty and lobbing balls with an arch that can be best described as a flaccid penis. Good news is that I got two kills with it before it died... people expecting they can run up my tape without me slinging some turbo tippmann at dem, day be trippn'.
Enjoy!
