Just tell her you are fixing it for someone and it is not yours and when they never show up to pick it up tell her you are keeping it for all of the work you put into it.
The best gun for woodsball is the best gun that you can handle and personal preference. You'll see 15 year paintball veterans still rocking out a Tippmann 98 Custom just because it works for them.
I personally prefer autocockers and any advice I'd give on specific guns would be biased. I prefer them since they *tend* to be quieter than open-bolt guns.
Don't listen to what anyone says here. You are going to get mixed opinions.
ex. Go for a 98 custom because it can handle anything and keeps on going, while another person will say get a tournament marker because its rate of fire and it can be good for speedball and woodsball.
Honestly, go with what you think you should go for. Don't get a double trigger gun because people say it's good and you can spray.
What I would personally recommend, and I'm not recommending any guns. But go with a mechanical gun. (which includes tippmanns)
If you're interested in an electrical gun though, and you're trying to look for a newer lower end/ cheaper marker, then here:
- Invert
- Danger Power
- GOG
- Proto
Try and find the marker that you think fits you though. Really though, nobody can tell you what marker is right for you, find the one that feels the best to you and has the features you want.
If possible, go to a shop and see if you can hold some of the markers that people mentioned. If it feels like crap in your hands at the shop it will feel like crap kn the field too!

He is right, if I were you I would go with a speedball gun, because as usabball stated, it will work on the speedball field and on the woodsball field. All guns shoot just under 300 fps, but just get what feels comfortable to you. If all you play is woodsball, and have money burning a hole in your pocket, get a tibirus gun.
I wouldn't suggest a tippman just because you will want to upgrade it, which is common with any marker, but it will still be a tippman. (IE: an airhog, inefficient, loud.) But tippmans can take a beating.

Like those guys said it is pretty much personal preference. All paintball markers shoot straight if they are taken care of. What it all comes down to is how the marker feels your hands.
There really isn't anything specific to woodsball play where you wouldn't want air-efficiency, velocity consistency, light-weightedness, a quiet shot, and a small profile. Ironically, most "woodsball" guns have NONE of those characteristics. Therefore, my recommendation is and always will be: anything you'd use for tournament play will excel in woodsball. If you want a "woodsball" or "tactical" gun in order to fulfill a need to recreate a military experience -- well, that's another argument and a different mindset.

My dad's Phenom gets a hopper and 4 pods off a crappy 48/3000, not exactly an airhog....
Personally, I like the Tippmann A-5. But, I play in the cold often, and every spyder that has come to my field in the cold has leaked...
I get well over 1,000 shots out of a single 20 ounce Co2 tank, it is VERY accurate, and for me it seems small and light weight. The cyclone system feeds balls as fast as I can pull the trigger, and I don't have to mess with batteries, or buying an expensive hopper.
You can buy them new for $170, and used for around $100, hundreds of thousands of them are out there, and they are solid and well build, HERE in the USA!
I just recieved my dye dam yes its on the expensive end but it does everything i want without trying to MOD the hell outta of it. Most would say it is on the heavier side but when in real life you carry an m4 with mags 9mm, level 4 bullet plates with your vest it isnt so heavy. Shoots amazing, but honestly i shot my buddies project salvo which he paid $500 with all gear, upgrades including RT and cyclone feeder it works fine perfectly fine for woodsball. I honestly would take whatever gun you can get go play and enjoy yourself.
Curious question: Why do people who play woodsball never seem to want to use electric speedball markers? I figure, why not buy one that enables you to play both?
