I am so sad that ODD no longer does work that was going to be my graduation present to myself when I graduate at the end of December.

ODD is art. Lorne is a mad genius when it comes to shopping and creating. Where there is a lot of lasering the doesn't flow and seems excessive, I think the Roy is a perfect example of heavy lasering that flows and actually looks proper. It was treated much more as a full collage then just designs put together and applied to a marker like most these days.
Each ODD was treated differently. Mine was obviously more anodize/masking heavy with lasering for detail. Others were simply all anodizing and masking. They just had a way to do things and make them look awesome. Even the Juggernaut 07 is very laser heavy, but it flows and it looks right.

Tabris I could not of said it better and it is going to be a while I think before someone else comes along with the vision and abilities he has. He created only masterpieces and treated every gun like a canvas. It is amazing still what he has done.
I hope he comes back even for a limited run, but if paintball and designing is no longer what he enjoys then it is a good thing he quit. I hope that he finds a passion and enjoyment in it again and brings back his talents.

Lorne just has flare for being creative. I gave him a basic idea for this initially of 'Black with blood splatter all over it' and I had the grips and slogans on the barrel pretty much lined up, one got changed because it was too long. But when he did the mock up he kept the blood splatter idea and went with the ashen grey and black tendrils. Blew my mind. Especially with the blood splatter looking like it was being handled. I kept telling him 'more blood' though.

Though, giving artists a basic idea and then just saying 'Do what you want, have at it' usually yields promising and surprising results with people in an artistic median.

I have #25, the Tartan Mini. I commissioned this gun right after my Grandfarther got sick, sort of as a tribute piece. The gun has only been used once, by my little cousin, and it was his first time playing paintball.

Lorne was/is truly an artist, and though most people don't think much of a Mini, we picked this gun up specifically for this project as it would show off the tartan the best. We went back and forth with several photoshops on different bodies before deciding on a Mini.

I'm not sure what he's up to nowadays, but I remember when we were finishing up this project he was going to start working on a rat-rod. Whereever he is, or whatever he's doing I hope he is happy and knows that there are people out there who are still big fans and love his work.

all i can say is the mini is perfection that is the only way to put it. so much fine detail is amazing. The message behind the gun makes it even better.
