Super 8 - 8/10

Really liked the fact that it took place about the same time that ET came out in theatres.. early 80's. It had a little ET in the story line with a lot of Cloverfield... but it held my attention and the ending was a little weak but so weak as to ruin the entire movie...

Judy Moody - 4/10, maybe?

Okay, so I knew what to expect going to see this movie. However, they did a pretty damn poor job. There's little "cutesy" graphics inserted everywhere. The little brother was the typical little brother. But the girl playing Judy was a horrendous actress. And to make matters worse, she is a very aesthetically unappealing girl and half of the damn movie is spent zoomed in on JUST HER FACE! I mean, come on, people aren't here to see a good movie but save our eyes, please? But Heather Graham is super hot and does a good job in her role while "grown up Steve Urkel" being the teacher put a pleasant, unexpected smile on my face.

Netflix Instant

- The Joneses - 7.5/10 - Great cast, cool story line.
Spoiler: (Highlight this box to see the hidden message.)
i wish they would have somehow kept us in the dark alittle longer about the actual family being a marketing team, like possibly reveal after the neighbor dies in the pool when he tells everyone

-Bunny and the Bull - 5/10 - Indie comedy, british? humor. Didnt keep my attention the story line was weird though which i liked... just pretty slow paced.
-Amusement - 3/10 - stupid horror flick, i thought it was gonna be a b class-horror movie about clowns. but its not, the cover art is deceiving.
- Patrice o'neil Elephant in the room (stand-up) - 7/10 - very funny at parts lots of race/sex humor the bit about animal commercials was my favorite i was dieing laughing
-Shrooms - 4/10 - Could have been way better, and the ending was ****ing stupid

Its better than cloverfield

*you might not want to read the spoiler unless you dgaf it takes away a huge part of the beginning of the movie*
Spoiler: (Highlight this box to see the hidden message.)
The "thing" that is causing all the **** to happen around town is an alien. Its very similar looking to cloverfield for one. And the way they shoot the alien is also very similar. You rarely see the entire alien all at once. Usually its just a claw coming out and grabbing someone or tentacles. You also see more and more of him as the movie progresses kinda like cloverfield.

pretty much the same thoughts. I think i expected a little too much going in. It didnt blow me away like i thought it would. I would rate a little lower at a 7-7.5/10
It was like ET/Cloverfield/ The Goonies (or some other movie centered on a group of children)

it immediately reminded me of Stephen King's IT when they entered the cave towards the end. I dont know why lol, but i felt the same sort of suspense.

Super 8 was amazing. Those kids are very talented. The only reason I went to go see it is because of all the positive reviews here. 8/10. I would give it a higher rating if it had more of an intense story.

SUPER 8 - this guy basically nailed it on the head for me.

ET/Cloverfield/Goonies

For me personally, I wasnt really really impressed by this movie. It had solid entertainment value but I just couldnt gush over it. Good to see once but I wouldnt see it twice. For me personally goonies and ET captured that whole kid group mystery adventure feeling better. I do feel how ever that it did deliver it well to the next generation that same type of genre (if you can consider it that)

Also Elle fanning is freaking awesome though. Dakota better pick her game up because her little sister can act.

overall solid 7.5/10

Law Abiding Citizen - 9.8 out of 10.

I had never seen it before, but it was great! I didn't like it that Gerard Butler was a good guy that became the bad guy though....but not really the bad guy but the the good/bad guy...confusing thinking about that, hahaha!

Super 8- 8.4/10

I thought Super 8 was really well done. I enjoyed it, it had a great feel to it and some great acting. I thought the movie undertone was a good subplot that played into things overall. The pyro kid had me rofling the whole time, always wanting to blow everything up.

JJ Abrams really likes the damn lens flare/brightness way too much. Star Trek had almost the same lighting effects.

XMen First Class- 7/10

Super 8 - 6.75/10.

I agree; basically, I felt like I was watching a Cloverfield rewrite w/ much younger actor/actresses. Although for me, this version was less intense by comparison, which I found disappointing. However, the acting was worth the price of admission, and despite having very little of a story behind this hyped up phenomenon -- the screenplay of having 2 films developing ("Super 8" and Super 8) simultaneously was entertaining.
