I support this.
Another thing to consider is that people leave links in their signatures for their buyers to find it easily to leave feedback after they receive it.

I agree I hate it when people remove their entire post when they sell the gun and replace it with "SOLD" without a price or anything. This is a great idea.

What about a Pending/Sold button?
As in when a deal is being worked out, the pending button is hit. If it falls through, hit the "unpending" button. Then when the transaction is done, hit the sold button?

What would be the point of a pending button? IMO, it's an unnecessary complication in a system meant to simplify the process.
The pending button doesn't give valuable information to potential buyers.

Some were bringing up concern about hitting the sold button and then the deal falling through after it was sold. This allows the seller to let others know that there is a deal in the works (and thus, in most cases, most likely sold).
Plus, I don't see how a sold button really "simplifies" anything? How hard is it to hit edit and type "sold" at the top?

Because it would show up on the outside of the thread. Then mods could come in and clean things up easier. Plus then when you're searching for something you don't have to click through a bunch of sold threads.
As of now it doesn't look like its going to end up happening. I just suggested it thinking it could help clean up some of the clutter and make peoples searches easier.

Great idea! A sold/close thread button is very handy and it is the only option given to the original poster of the thread in terms of controlling the threads outcome. All you have to do is allow the OP the option to re-open the thread if needed.
In addition, we should make it a new rule to have people NOT delete or edit their original for sale post so that it can be referenced at a later time, if needed. Especially useful for market value researching and for those scammers that try to erase information.

I've gone into my own sale threads and added a line at the top stating "sold/thank you", but I leave the info on what was put up.
Having a sold button would be awfully handy... then it's just a matter of getting members to actually use the thing!

i agree. it is a great idea. but in my personal opinion and experience, with how horrible most people are on this site at reading and noticing things, they will just miss/ignore/not care about the icon

Here is a suggestion taken from my computer enthusiest site Overclock.net.
It's basically a computer/geek version of PBNation.com
Picture is self explanitory but notice how there are multiple "Titles"
On that forum it is required to state who you are shipping to, such as US48, etc.
You can also go to Edit, then Advanced (just like pbnation) and change the title tag to SOLD so people know to stay away.
Hope this suggestion helps

This is a good idea which has been suggested time and time again. It clearly exists on other sites which use the same layout as PBN, so it cannot possibly be that hard to implement. Once a thread is marked sold, it cannot be bumped anymore. If the deal falls through, you just remove sold and can bump it again. This would also likely prevent users from editing over their prices with SOLD!!!, which is really annoying when you want to know what a marker is selling for.
So, my question is thus... what's with the hold-up?!
Mods, I know you can't do much more than move these suggestions along to those who operate the site, but why does it take so long to implement simple, useful changes?

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but how hard would it be to add a sold/traded icon to the list of icons that you can already have accompany the thread title?(The smileys, tup, tdown, the attention icon, etc.) Just a thought...
Also, news upping the information would probably get more attention then just adding it to the b/s/t stickies, but you all already knew that

I'd really like to hear from a mod again sometime soon... It seems that this has more than enough support from people and pictures have been provided to show an example of how it would look. Its even the same forum layout so i don't imagine it being too difficult to make this happen.

Wouldn't it work if the op could change the title them self? Once the item sells they change the title to sold/delete then a mod could simply delete the post.
