Highly suggested, but optional practice on Saturday, 9am. We will be spinning games on the MAPL layout before we head up to Northeast for the evening.

Post up that you will be there or not, as well as carpool situations ASAP. I can take 4 guys, max. I won't be driving the beltway with 2 in the bed again.

LMK.

Big Rich told me that he was having a big meeting Saturday at 9 a.m. to talk about Ref'ing behavior, keeping track of ref'ing hours, and enforcing rules.

JB will be there.

We have room to transport up to 2 more people, but we booked a room at the Hampton Inn in Middletown, DE a couple of weeks ago. It is only a few minutes from the field.

I'm suprised nobody posted last night after the getting back! Word on the street is that we may finally have a decent picture of Matt. Either way, we learned a lot about ourselves yesterday. There is no need to sulk about the performance. Instead, let's think about some areas we did well in...

What I learned was that even when we are down, it doesn't mean we're out. Both teams had difficulty playing to our potential, but both teams were able to show the ability to make adjustments, as well. I am really proud of how we held our heads high, despite having a rough day. In case you guys didn't notice, there were some pretty solid clubs out there yesterday. Believe it or not, we were two of those teams.

What we have to do now is think about the areas we fell short on, learn from them, and move on. Reality set in for us yesterday, I think. We knew that nobody would sleep on us anymore, but I don't think we realized that we may have been the ones sleeping. Sometimes it's hard to see who the enemy really is...and yesterday...it was ourselves.

We'll be practicing plenty in the next few weeks, and I know we'll be more than ready to rebound at the next event.

One of my favorite quotes from Vince Lombardi:
"Dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success. I think you can accomplish anything if you're willing to pay the price. Once you agree upon the price you must pay for success, it enables you to ignore the minor hurts, the opponent's pressure and the temporary failures."

A Mayhem team will win our next event.

Vince Lombardi once said that “The best practice schedule is a schedule that best simulates game conditions and situations.”

I know I'm an outsider commenting on the situation, but sometimes an outsider has the best view. I thought that everyone had their own really great moments and they should be very proud of them! Mistakes should be used as a learning tool, and sometimes not having the best outcome can work to your benefit in the end since it helps you not to take things for granted. Winning is not guaranteed and the only way to get better is through practice....hopefully in the future, not the day before the tournament.

To take Vince Lombardi's advice, maybe taking advantage of the practice at OXCC the week before, on the actual field, and against the teams that will be your competion may be something to consider. The day before the tournament, you can use that time for strategy talk based on what you learned the week before, take it easy, and hydrate....and build team unity.

Just my unsolicited thoughts for a team (both lines) that I think should be very proud of themselves for what they have accomplished in such little time! Don't lose sight of the fact that you've only been playing D3 (and with new team members) for a few months and you have done quite well!
