Your Steps:
1) Contact the Assemblymembers on the California Assembly Committee on Public Safety
2) Contact your representatives
3) Inform your customers so they may do the same.
4) Do you have any customers in California Law Enforcement?
The
California Paintball Safety Coalition has drafted a form letter you can use to contact your representatives and members of the California Assembly Committee on Public Safety.
Paintball Business Form Letter
The business form letter allows you to stress the negative economic impacts this bill will have, both on your business and California tax revenues. As a California-based business, it is imperative that you contact your legislators and and members of the California Assembly Committee on Public Safety let them know you oppose the bill.
You should both call and register your opposition to the bill and fill out, sign and fax a copy of the form letter, or write your own respectful letter explaining why you are opposed to SB 798. If you do write your own letter, you can still read the form letter for ideas.
Remember it is critically important to communicate in a respectful manner. Legislators may simply not understand the full consequences of this bill and it is our job to provide them with the information they need to amend this bill to exclude paintball guns.
Contacting the Committee on Public Safety:
Call Them:
State that you oppose Senate Bill 798 unless it amended so paintball guns do not need to be brightly colored.

California Law Enforcement
Do you have any customers in California Law Enforcement?
It would be very helpful to have someone employed in law enforcement to explain to legislators why it is not necessary for paintball guns to be included in this bill.
If you know of such a person, contact them and ask if they would write a letter to the Public Safety Committee Members explaining how they enjoy paintball and their concerns with this bill. If you or they need help drafting a letter, please feel free to contact me (click my handle and "Send email to raehl".)
