Nvm figured it out. Sft eyes are too short to fit the nerve and the eyes are pluged in upside down.

Edit: back on topic, have you seen the hpr and lpr mod for the quest?
http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3505431

Could you do something like that with maxflo's?

That mod isn't neccesary for the max-flo hpr or mini-flo lpr. They already have plenty of vent space for the air behind the piston. The problem the regs have is more to do with piston size and design and flow through the reg.

The HPR already has a huge vent hole anyway - the hex hole in the HPR's adjustment nut is cut all the way through, so air can already move freely in and out of the HPR as the piston moves so as not to impede it's movement.

I'm picking up what you're putting down.

Would there be benifits to making the bolt open faced?

I believe it is a small decrease in input or something like that. Nothing major. If I can ever get my open faced bolt to to function in my nerve Ill make a write up between stock and open faced.

CS,

If you still need a Nerve, PM me. Or hopefully someone can send you dimensions via solidworks.

Next question then has to be, other than reproducing stock parts for spares, does anything leap out at you as begging to be upgraded in any way?

well I don't see why the whole ram assembly couldn't be made from aluminum lowering your reciprocating mass. that should allow a lower dwell as well as better "shot on shot" consistency.

Also, I'm fairly sure that with a custom body insert the nerve could have BB eyes. downside is that you can' use NXT eyes as the eye ribbon is not long enough. maybe something like Angel eye ribbons would work though?

I actually have a few ideas that I'm working on. I've sent cs900 my email and will converse with him on what I have before telling anything, that way he can weed out any of the stupid ideas as to not make me look too retarded.

I'd love to see a different ram assembly. You could separate the back portion so it's removable without having to remove the frame and eye.

I would like to see some development on this if it would mirror the other side. I don't see why we couldn't use some type of eye set up like speeds uses on his break beam mods for shockers.

How about doing a TonTon trigger frame for the Nerve?

How about making this? (number 2)
http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3025300&page=2

I have the Solidworks file (2009 Premium) that has all the dimensions.
(update: DuPont wouldn't return my calls, machine shop closed and wife had a baby so fell by the wayside)

And yes new eyes would be awesome.

It does.

Perhaps it's a matter of availability (lack thereof) rather than compatibility that is behind this request?

Thanks Uziel, yes the SFT TonTon frame does fit the Nerve, but you have a greater chance of finding rocking horse sh*t.

Also the link is to an open faced bolt I designed in Solidworks 09' as I said if you want I still have the file and it is correctly dimensioned.
