Well I guess if he isn't going to post in this forum anymore we will just have to keep speculating as to his motives.
I don't see what the big deal is though. All this could be cleared up by simply posting the video. I fail to see how posting it would do any harm to X3. It would just put this whole thing to bed. Instead he is just flat out refusing to do so, and with no real explanation as to why.

He might have contractual obligations that he has to hold to. There may be ulterior motives, or maybe his contract with GI Milsim, which allows him the first hand usage of their markers and paint, contains something about not releasing footage of the tests until it's complete, or maybe his company has decided to release everything in a timeframe that we don't know about.
Is it possible that there's something funny going on? Absolutely, but there are also other things that could explain his decision.

Very true, but he hasn't said that. All he has said is he wont be forced by us Average Joe Readers to post something he doesn't want to. If he has obligations to the company, then say that. Granted that will just make things look even more suspect, but at least it would be the truth. Instead he is just refusing to post the video with no good explanation why.

I"m actually more interested not in their data- but in how their experiment was set up and run- it's odd to see such a huge discrepancy. Granted, I'd also like to see their data, though, in this case, I'll most likely treat it the same way I treat product reviews by sponsored teams and players- as hype, and little more.

They said in November they would post it in a few weeks. Now it will be when it ends?
Most people post data right along side their reports to back up the claims. Maybe that's why the claims were deleted eh?
This claim:

At 100 feet, the little Micro put all but two shots it fired completely inside the group produced by the Luxe!
|
I was curious how they set up the gun to do that, because at 100 feet there is such a DROP shooting the 50 caliber that it is basically impossible to shoot inside the other pattern. Even using their data, I've run the numbers... It's not going to happen unless sheer dumb luck is on their side and he should have gone out and played the lottery instead.
A video would clear up these questions. We got shut down back then, and getting shut down now. Of course now that the company in question is actively advertising, I doubt we'll see anything but glowing reviews.

It's not peer pressure when your CUSTOMER BASE is asking you to clarify something you stated in your publication. If he wants people to read his magazine, maybe he should listen to what the readers are ASKING for.
Forgive the gratuitous use of capslock, but it is becoming more and more evident that he's more concerned with keeping his $500 a month ad than keeping his customer base happy. I can't say I blame him. Business is business and money makes the world go round. He just can't come in here, make a bunch of claims, spout off about integrity, and then not back anything up.

Well I exchanged a few PMs with John and all he told me was "We have a plan and that plan does not include starting, stopping, starting and stopping again. Once we get back to the series, when I know we have reliable working equipment, we'll release everything. Until then, it's just not going to happen. We have a plan..."
All I asked was why he was so against posting the video and how it could possibly do any harm to X3 to post it.
What would it take? 5 minutes to toss the video onto youtube, or some file share service like Rapidshare? He has had to spend three times that amount of time coming in this thread and trying to defuse this debate. All it would take was posting the video and this would all be over, something he says hes planning on doing anyway. Just post it and get it over with.

the incestuous relationship between manufacturers and "media" in the game is amazing. I commend painthappy for holding their feet to the fire on it.

You cant ask other people to verify your integrity as by definition it is to do the right thing when no one is looking. But if your as standup as you say you are, we shouldnt have to ask someone else.
