I may be wrong but that was my perception as I knew him personally and when I was a part of the Stout club.

Kyle was a part of a group, including myself and a few others that joined the Whitewater club in '04-05 that really took the club and turned it around. Some internal adjustments as well as Kyle's involvement with Stinger really helped us, because it got us a foot in the door and a quality place to play every week. His focus was always more on Stinger than the Whitewater club, but he worked there and that was also his primary team, so it was understandable.
There was something about the '06-07 school year that a whole bunch of Midwest North (WI, MN, UP, IL) teams stepped it up and really brought the teams here to that "national forefront" that you mentioned. Not a coincidence, I believe that was the year the Midwest North was formed, and it gave some structure to a "division" of teams that before had to travel to West Lafeyette (Purdue) and the middle of Illinois to play NCPA tournaments. That wasn't too bad for Whitewater, but teams like Michigan Tech or any of the Minnesota teams didn't make it to many of them, because it was simply too far.
I could go on and on... I played Fall '04 to Spring '09, thankfully getting to quit on the highest note possible by winning Nationals. Regardless, I've witnessed a lot of Midwest college paintball and I'm just glad that those of us that passed through over the last 6-7 years from every university have left the region in much better condition than it was. I remember practices my freshman year that the teams heard we were a college team, and they laughed at us. That wasn't the case in the more recent years...

John, I think you are mistaken since I have played at Jungle Cats outdoor field all the way back in 94’ and they were open for business years before that time (1991?). Maybe you are confused from when John Simon (Jungle Cats) bought the land in Juneau, WI and moved from the old field location in Helenville to the Juneau location in 96’.

Paintball Dave's outdoor field opened in spring of 1992 not the late 90's. Dave lost or gave up the lease on it this past year and Splat camp is now gone.

Tracy is an awesome guy, from what I know he lives in Indiana currently and most of the SOB's like my dad are done with the sport. Jay "swamp rat" and my dad Harry Mattheis work at the Venus Ford right by Mitchell Airport. The rest of the team I haven't heard from in years

Darrin is an amazing paintball entity in Wisconsin.
Craig Nicolai owns First Strike Paintball games in Chippewa Falls. That field was originally opened in the early 90's as Survival Games LTD. I started playing there in 92 and I know they were open for a few years before that. That same chunk of land is still running strong today. I have played that dirt for 2 decades this year.
Aaron Tholey (now with XSV) opened up his field in River Falls called Vintage Paintball. He is from the twin cities I believe though.
has this thread died, or are you initial intentions from 2010 still ongoing?

There was an idea that this was attached to, but it was supposed to happen this last summer. I may still be able to make it happen, but it's uncertain right now.
