ya ive never been to an nppl.
i see him every event, i know he's an nppl ref.
he just doesnt have the skill or knowledge to be a head ref, or the balls to step up to the pro players.
The fact that there was SO many complaints that the ultimate (perez) had to acually come out on the field and ref, just goes to show right there.
ps. how would i have never been to an nppl if i am commenting on how this ref did ? hah

First of don't talk like you know what was going on... Because if you did you would know that the red bandana ref is Dan's cousin... And the fact that dan was on the field because their was a shortage of refs. So keep pretending you know whats going on and I will keep laughing at your illinformed posts.

"shortage of refs" how is there a shortage of refs for the finals. Is nppl is that dismal that there aren't enough refs for pro division?

just goes to show you that nothing has changed in the nppl.
First was the Joy Division debacle.
Then the NURV replayed game in tampa.
Then the Uprising game against avalanche.
Then the Dynasty vs Avalanche.
The fact of the matter is that the rule book has not changed. There are loopholes in there that allow promoters and or head refs to influence the outcome of a game in order to achieve the best most profitable outcome.
Then to top it all off, there is a member of the NPPL staff, running his MOUTH on camera. Yeah stiffer penalties are needed.
The NPPL rule book needs to be crystal clear on what actions to take. As long as there is more than one way to interpret a rule, as long as there is grey area the sport will continue to be plagued by these things. How?
Simple:
1. Utlimate Ref should ONLY influence a call if there is video evidence. (replay).
2. Make all REF calls final on the field unless deemed otherwise by the replay.
And for crying out loud take out the rule that gives the ultimate ref power to change the outcome of the game if he deems the circumstances extreme.

Agreed. Nothing has progressed in the NPPL which is sad.
A head ref in HB told me that any ref can pull a 1x1 2x1 or a 3x1 for ANY penalty. So playing on can be any of those above it just depends what the ref FEELS is necessary to pull at the time.
This came up of course when our player called for a paint check and got a 3x1 for playing on while not shooting his market. =)

Absolutely....also the rules are written to allow the league to hold no responsibility for anything that goes wrong. Other then them saying "I'm sorry".

Yep, sure enough there was a shortage, or at least not enough refs as the NPPL would have liked to have had on each field. Three of the refs scheduled to make the event couldn't make it last minute due to family emergencies or personal reasons.

It's sucks that a ref actually told you this. I hope it was a miscommunication or misunderstanding, because if that is what he said, unfortunately it's not true. What makes it worse is if there is a ref on the field who thinks that, they obviously don't know how and when to apply the proper penalty.

Why should I? Did you not say those things?bPerhaps you should refrain from saying those types of things public. I report the truth. If you did not say those things I will gladly remove them. But why should you as a professional paintball player be treated any differently from any professional athlete out there that speaks in a derogatory way on camera. If you threaten me again, I will pursue legal action against you and your employer. My freedom of speech supersedes your bad choices.

That isn't helping the situation. There's no need to include yourself just to egg Frank on. Do I think what Frank did and said was childish? Absolutely, yes. We've all done it in our lives, some more extreme than others. But I'm not going to involve myself when I'm not part of the situation.
I honestly think paintball isn't going to get better until we help ourselves out and by that I mean coming together as a community and doing what we can to help the leagues thrive and improving our conduct. I know everyone comes on here and lists out all the problems they had with the tournament (whether it's legitimate problems or a team got mad because they got smashed and want to blame someone) which is a start, but start emailing, too. If the leagues don't listen and don't try to provide the best experience within reasonable means, logistically and financially, then that falls on them, because we did our part to help. I think Frank should apologize for his actions and how he poorly represented the NPPL and I think everyone should stop trying to stir the pot and get back at Frank for how he acted.
Just the way I see things.

Noted, just wanted to see if he'd threaten me with a lawyer as well, because I'd love to have one of our good family friends who is also a lawyer review the case and knock him down a few pegs. I removed it from my sig, but if he actually tries to pursue legal action on anyone, please PM me.
