Ego11 Degassing
Went out last weekend with my new ego11 and when I came home to oil my bolt and rammer I unscrewed the rammer cap, to my surprise I got a puff of air out of it. My questions are would degassing it this way cause any damage, and what is the best way to get that last shot of air out?

No it shouldnt cause any damage to your gun. and the best way is to simply air off ur ego and turn the eyes off and fire the marker and that will purge the gun

I remember my old ego9 and SLS would vent out the air after turning off the asa. It took a couple minutes but it would all vent out without shooting.
I now have a Ego11 and it does not do that, is that normal?
Also, it's probably best to shoot the marker to fully degas it instead of taking the rammer cap off with air in the system, you could possible loss an eye...

That won't happen because it's just the LPR that's holding in the air. Air from the reg itself has been purged so there's not enough there to fire it back very far. I'm assuming maybe the seals are better on the 11 because the LPR holds in air much longer than any of the previous Egos did.

Incorrect.
While you can do this, you do not want to at all. This leaves the solenoid half open and when you regas the marker, it slams the noid closed.
Not a big issue but leave the air alone, it will degas its own.

This was two days after I played, the tank had been removed from the marker that entire time. So again I ask what is the best method to remove the air from the marker so I can lubricate my bolt and rammer? With my etek I always turned the eyes of and fired that last bit of air, but I also know dry firing causes premature wear. I would imagine this slower dragging dry fire isn’t any good for anything either.

The solenoid is electronically controlled, right? By shooting the gun aren't you putting the noid through a full cycle, whether or not air is in the gun?

dry firing isnt that bad. i mean, really, the only difference is that the air hits a ball in the breech and propels a ball down the barrel.
the solenoid and rammer dont perform any different whether there is a ball to shoot or not.

Not exactly sure, but if you try to cycle the marker to release the last bits of pressure, I think the solenoid would only open half or less since it won't be hitting the poppit very hard and very little air is released or shot out. This leaves the solenoid open and when the gun is aired back up the solenoid has to be opened to bring the bolt/rammer back. I remember for my Etek3, if I cycled the marker to shoot excess pressure out, whenever I aired the gun back up the solenoid would go through a full cycle and shoot the rammer/bolt forward then back.
feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

No you would have to pop the pops to completely degas it won't degas by itself.

This is what my older Ego's did, they would bleed out the rest of the air after I de-gas the marker from the tank. But the Ego11 does not do that for some reason.. Does anyone else notice that??

It depends on the seals on your gun. Each one is different.

On any gun you just turn of the eyes shoot once or twice and its ready to lube, if you dont know if its gased or not, try to push the bolt foward, if its hard, that means its still gased up.

yes, but if you read the other posts above people are stating that it leaves the solenoid ope because it is only half a shot.

I don't think they understand how solenoids work.

My ego 11 does the same thing. I degas and pull on the bolt a bit there's still some pressure in the gun. I turn my eyes off and it can just manage half a shot

the lpr retains the air, you just dry fire it and call it a day

Solenoids are electronically controlled. Air does not dictate whether a solenoid is open or closed. The electric current when you pull the trigger opens the solenoid and after that the solenoid resets itself. If you dry fire the last couple shots out its not going to leave your solenoid open

Take the reg apart and replace the Reg Seal inside the bottom 1/2 of inline reg adjuster. Clean the inline purge poppet and check to make sure that the spring is not gunked up.
The marker should do a double purge when you degas it. First from the Pops...and then from the Reg. The SL3 reg should allow the air to reverse flow out.
