Not trying to be "cool" by saying I despise a game I paid $50 for.
The facial expression gimmick gets old quick, and the actual gameplay revolves around 3-4 actions repeated every single mission.
1. Go to scene, check face, arms and breast pockets. Check blood stains or surrounding stuff, ask questions to a lying (almost always or doubt) suspect. Suspect says, "BLAH BLAH PROOF" show proof, get answer.
2. Chase sequence. ****ty traffic AI, always ends the same. Spin out or get out and shoot/warning shot them.
3. Question suspects (doesn't matter who you put away!)
- Seriously, nothing matters. You put away the wrong guy and still advance in the story. You don't find all the clues, no problem. You don't get all the answers - you'll be alright.
- The traffic AI is retarded and really, REALLY can break the immersion.
- The graphics fluctuate between great current gen and PS1 era "WTF" moments.
- If you listen, some of the sounds sound like they were recorded in a garage.
- Performance hits and horrible, odd framerate/rendering issues with distant animated objects really detracts too.

Awesome, you could have said that the first time in stead of repeating "This game is ****" 4 times.

Lawl. I do the same sometimes. A game will just make me rage hard ill just drool with anger on how ****ty it is. When friends ask me why, all they get in response is an angry sound followed by profuse foaming at the mouth. Then I procede to rape a sega saturn.
A few days later i actually organize my rage into coherent thoughts.

Just got around to finishing the game. Thoroughly enjoyable, but the ending was a completely obvious setup for the next game. Even the little "after credits" scene enforced that.

this guy hit the nail on the head. ive been playing the game rarely (dont have time usually) the past couple weeks, and all i can think about is why is there so much rave online about this game. sure its cool but death taco got it right, its no gta. it feels way too linear. regardless its fun to play, not completely terrible, but i think ill sell it back to gamestop soon once i beat it. either to get something else or atleast try to save money on a game that will just end up sitting in the case anyway

The "It's no GTA" point is invalid. It never was an attempt to be GTA. It's about the story, interrogation, and being on the "Law" side for once. If it were a completely open world game, and it had a completely linear feel that'd be one thing, but you go case to case. It's a very linear story set in an open environment. As it was meant to be.

Lie can be backed up by your evidence so always be familiar with what you have.
Doubt is similar, but it's not backed up by evidence and more by their demeanor.

I loved this game, while there were still **** to do. After I finished the street crimes, there was just nothing left.
I haven't played it in about 2 months.

I started it up the other day since I have the Rockstar Pass, and downloaded the DLC packs and played them all. Pretty solid except the Reefer Madness one can be blown through in 25mins or less if you make a logical deduction and go to point B instead of A early on.

Decided to throw this game back in and follow a guide to get 5 stars on all the cases and find everything. After playing it once it's just become incredibly difficult to play it again.
