I don't accept that as an option any longer.
I'd like to see the NPPL put forth the effort concerning it's first party media end, and I think many would agree with me.

Hate to chime in on this particular topic, but the topless girls last year were one of the reasons I wasn't there this year. I certainly had the option of coming down, it's not a bad drive, and I would have loved to have seen some NPPL action as well as played in LL4. See, my family comes along to events with me generally, and as much a fan as I am of the female form, that doesn't really make for a family friendly event for either set of games going on at the location. There's a time and a place for everything... maybe a paintball event isn't the best of either for a T&A show.

Booth babes make money. Sweaty guys shooting at each other usually doesn't.

Hmm Really? So that entry fee we all pay just goes to what then besides the bills and keeping nppl/psp alive?

My wife just saw the coverage on facebook...You hit it on the head brother...I have 5 kids they all love paintball as does my wife. With that said what the NPPL did was classless. If you want to do that do it at the propper venue do it after hours to ensure the proper age level is in attendance.
I love to bring my family out to events. This was just poor judgement!
Best of luck

The bikini contest was at night (8 PM) at the players party. That also served alchohol and was for players only. So that shouldn't be an issue. Also alot of the scantily clad women were from booths at the trade show/CPX which they did use to sell/make money! The clothes they were wearing was at least more than a bathing suit or same amount. So i guess don't take your family to the beach either! p.s. no painted women this time either

Wait, wait, wait... I can clear this up quickly.
As soon as I saw this thread I contacted Pev, the NPPL President, to get clarification.
First of all we would like to apologize because we were not able to give updates on scores and standings. Chris, the guy that does our online updates, was unable to attend the event due to last minute complications. He will be at the rest of the events.
As far as posting pics from the bikini contest... that was handle by Pev, Jung and I and we have nothing to do with scoring. We were just posting pics on Twitter and Facebook because we knew that some fans would like to see what was going on. We never intended for it to look low class and I'm sorry if anyone feels that it did.
I hosted the bikini contest and I did my best to be entertaining and respectful at the same time. We started the contest at 9:00 pm to give the families plenty of time to clear out. If you were there with your family at that point, you knew what you were getting into. I spoke to the girls prior to the contest and informed them that any kind of trashy behavior would not be tolerated and in my opinion the complied completely. I even reminded the crowd to be respectful to the contestants and they were (thanks guys).
The crowd was huge and I didn't hear any complaints other that if someone's favorite girl wasn't the winner.
Thanks,
Chris

^^^ BTW you did a great job of hosting. I really thought you were probably the only thing keeping that 'contest' from completely falling apart. Although In my opinion i call shens on you for the reason behind the 9:00 start. it started late cause its paintball and nothing (except LL4 run by VIPER) was/is ever on time. The judges were clearly too cool to get there by 8:00. Regardless, you have nothing to apologize for regarding the 'contest'

Thanks a lot man
btw we really did do it later so that it would be a "players party" kinda thing and not for families. I was originally told it was going to start at 8 and so that's what I announced but the judges were told it started at 9.
