POV Cameras

Heya all, here's the situation.

I recently came across an AR:K Angel and picked it up. For a while now I've had a GoPro HD camera, however I can't mount that to the rails on the side of the AR:K. I'm searching hard for a picatinny mount, but if push comes to shove I'll purchase an entirely new system. Does anyone have any suggestions, either how to make it suitable or another camera?

I'm still happy with my GoPro, so I'd prefer to keep it around. In the same breath, however, I've been looking at Tachyon's guncams, but the one thing that strikes me is their openness--one hit from the wrong angle and I'll lose the lens, or the entire rig. ContourHD is another good seeming camera, but I've only heard of an inkling of reviews on it.

Anyone care to toss in their $.02?

edit: And yes, I've tried to strap it to my noggin, however I have a large head and it messes with the fit of my mask.

Not sure I understand your needs. Your looking for a picantinny mount for a round barrel? If so,

Would have to shim it down say with a piece of rubber or PVC pipe split into a C shape.

The Angel AR:K already comes with rail systems on its sides, so I'd prefer to use those instead of another barrel mount. If anything, a flat surface that could be mounted onto a rail system that I could stick the GoPro camera I currently have onto it. Sadly, I've been having problems finding such a product.

Ok, What do you need? You need to attach your camera to a rail. What does the camera have to attach it to? A tripod mount? What?

It's the GoPro camera--they come with curved and flat panel adhesives that the camera's housing buckle into. The mounts it comes with can be found here. I just need a picatinny mount with a flat surface to glue it onto, essentially.

I would drill a hole in your base and screw it to that plate in addition to the adhesive.

sorry to necro, but put it on your head, gun cams suck. 1, your gun is pointing at the ground 90% of the time. 2, it is the most obnoxious sound to hear the gun shooting and the hopper feeding the gun when the camera is attached to it. And 3, the POV is much better on the head even if the gun is pointing at the same place

Harbor Freight has a $35 IR illuminated, color camera that takes a 6 volt dc power supply output. No specs on the outside of the box and no telling what's on the inside. It did NOT say it was night vision capable nor the output being RCA or what. A plexiglass shield or camera filter can protect the lens from an impact.

My fantasy is a night vision camera mounted onto the barrel with a sighting system built into it and a Borg eyepiece mounted inside my helmet to view the video display with one eye and not have my face lit up with a TV video display. Use it just for night games. Just can't find the small video display nor the lens needed to view it at a 1 inch focal length.

Honestly, I went with a Drift Stealth HD. Same quality of build, lower profile, and better mounting options for both the mask (has a quick on and off function for swapping it from my head mount to the picatinny mount on my gun, so I can do it mid game), plus it comes with a wristband remote, so I can record and stop recording without having to fiddle **** with a button on the camera.
