The "Which marker should I buy?" thread(The VS thread)

This should settle all the reposting of threads that look much too similar...

If you see another gun which you feel is important please post and I will add it to the poll...

edit--This thread originally was a poll. But has morphed into a normal thread.

Feel free to discuss and compare markers to you're blue in the face. This is the place to ask which marker is better between two or more markers, or what's better for a certain price range.

the 08 pmr which is a special edition of the 07, would not have the plastic trigger everyone hates. having shot many minis and owning a pmr 08, i would honestly say it is a toss up in my mind. i never really liked the look of a mini, but that is just me.

the mini is a very simple gun and is not hard to take apart and clean by no means

I never liked the Mini, the way it felt just isn't right to me. But the real deal breaker is the ASA. No on/off? And if you want one you have to replace the whole reg assembly. Oh, and when you do that, you only have one option.

I wouldn't. The PM6 is heavier than the the 09 rail. They have the same basic internals and I think the 09 has a better reg.

In the news section, theres a company making tank regs that have an integrated on/off. kinda nice for mini owners.

It stinks the relay is the only current option. at the added cost new and axe wouldnt be out of hand.

A mini with a v3 poppet is a nice tight marker, but can be to small for some.

4 guns

Ok guys I have a toss up of 4 guns I'm trying to decide to get. The four would be Vanguard Demon, Ego11, MacDev Clone VX, or 2011 Alien Indy. I only want one of these four for various reasons so please don't recommend any others. I'd like to know why you picked what you did aswell.

If you want a spool valve, get the Demon. I shot it this past weekend and it is way smoother than a clone.

If you want a poppit, get the ego11.

Why would you pick the Ego 11 over an Alien Indy?

An ego will hold its value longer, are at every major event if you need a tuning, have great customer service, and every shop is almost guaranteed to have parts for them and know how to fix them.

The Alien Indy is a great gun. I helped review one for paintballerschoice magazine last year. Jack is a good guy and stands behind his product. However, I have seen aliens having lower resale value than egos and, with the company being smaller, I am not sure how many shops are able to have a certified tech to diagnose and work on alien markers (I know my local shops don't). If you have a shop that does work with alien guns, then I would say the split is 50/50 on them.

Clone or ego
I have yet to find a smoother shooting gun than my vx'd clone(luxe, nt, vic and even the demon)

The ego is a solid gun, they shoot well and have pe customer service backing them up.

I would not choose the demon, for various reasons, and this is coming from someone absolutely in love with the two vanguard markers I have owned. Even after they pushed back the release date, it just seems to me that they have rushed to put this marker into production, and I would wait until I see great results before purchasing. (Although I have very much faith that this will be an amazing gun, especially for the price they have set for it)

I'd choose an ego over an indy based on the same reasons as someone has already stated, even though the one independence I have shot blew my mind.

In the end though, I'd choose the clone. All these markers will probably perform the same, less a few differences here and there. I would rather shoot the marker that is less common, but not so uncommon like the alien where it may be difficult to get parts.

Anyway, I just realized that this may not help much because my final conclusion is based on preference. Oh well, the choice between most high end markers is based mostly on personal preference anyway. Good luck in your decision.

They shoot like a stacked tube poppet. Honestly egos/cyborgs/creeds/indys all shoot about the same now. I remember everyone saying how smooth the creed and cyborg rx were when they came out and neither was that much if any smoother than an ego or timmy. Same thing with the 2010 indy, every indy i shot was camparable to my ego9s. I would only get one to flip and make cash of of, an thats difficult to do with an indy due to low-ish popularity and vague market value (it seems like nobody can come together on steady calue for the marker)

It wont dissapoint, but it wont blow all the other poppets out of the water.
